The game is quite unique in that every player is made up. With 35+ seasons now being played there is different generations of players. Basically, how the game works is you have a squad of 16 players, you draft, trade, delist as you like but you essentially need to create an XI which will be i- competitive in your division and ii- suit your pitch. For example if you has NSW, the SCG is typically a spinning pitch and thats whats in the simulator so you would create a team which is suited to spin bowlers ie: have the games best spinner and perhaps a spinning all-rounder.
The 16 players that a team has are completely made up players, can be either drafted or traded to your team. In the game there is 3 types of players.
1. Normal Players - Are drafted at the age of 20, can play for 10 seasons until they are 30 unless they have played all 10 seasons for the same club, in that instance they can be veterans listed and therefore can play an extra two seasons.
2. Under 18 players - These are the players which are drafted at the age of 18 (only 3 per year). Like normal players if played all 12 seasons at one club they can be veterans listed.
3. Internationals - These are the players that come from other leagues (made up of course) and vow for a contract in the game. If they play all there seasons at the one club they too can be veterans listed yet only for 1 season.
Each player has a certain role, there is no part time bowlers, they are considered all-rounders regardless of how bad they are or how little overs they bowl.
Types Of Players:
1. Opening batsmen
2. Middle Order Batsmen
3. Lower order batsmen (rare)
4. All Rounder - Pace
5. All Rounder - Medium
6. All Rounder - Spin
7. Opening Wicket Keeper
8. Middle Order Keeeper
9. Pace Bowler
10. Medium Bowler
11. Spin Bowler
Like most games you can trade and delist but that is only when the season has been over. Draft picks can be traded from the current and next season but nothing further then that, with the rule that any picks gained in a trade must be used.
Onto how we play the game...
For instance Round 1 Team selection is posted where you will probably have 2-3 days to post your side before the games are simmed. This is where you post your XI including one keeper and a minmimum of 3 bowlers. All teams are posted and the game scorecards come out, along side the statistics for that round, which are saved and build up over the year.
Round 2 onwards, the same thing happens. There is a newspaper article section where coaches are EXPECTED to write an article a round, this is to create banter etc. As for how the title works, top of the ladder means you are the premiers. As for division one, the top of the ladder is champions, and get promotion whilst 2nd last for premier and 2nd for div 1 play off to see who stays up or comes up.
MORE INFO:
Trading - Each trade must be agreed on by both teams and posted on in the sections "TRADES" with the title of both teams WA-NSW and the players/picks being traded with post teams posting "agreed" or something of that manner.
