Playing for Murdoch-Melville CC this season (free fees for u21s which I just fit into). Haven’t actually bowled pace in a full summer of cricket, only started during my winter comp but I think I just kind of figured out how to bowl it.
Yeah full pelt pace bowling, I like to tell myself that...
Happy (late) birthday Richie 🥳.
Was happy with a preseason training session I had today, really accurate and I reckon I touched 120kmh during it.
That being said I probably shouldn’t have bowled full tilt for the entire 2 hour session, the muscles in my back aren’t super happy.
Good morning (just), from WA. Will definitely start checking this thread out more, some interesting conversations. Cannot guarantee I’ll be as active on here as in the legspin thread though. If you want me to reply to something just quote me and I SHOULD get a notification for it.
I should be...
It’s really amazing how much both good biomechanics and natural ability affect how fast you can bowl.
Jadeja is a bowler that always amazes me, takes what, 3-4 steps and can bowl a 100kmh top spinning off break.
It’s technically with a different club.

But I’ve only taken 2 wickets from I think 9 games of cricket. HOWEVER I’m going at an ER of 6.38, which is great for a T20. I largely think the economy is because I...
Agree with this, but I have found that if you have a natural tilt of the seam you're better off trying to land on the rough side of the ball regardless of if that's the inside of outside. Might get more turn and it keeps the ball better for the quicks.
I’d also recommend considering what I also said about the rotation of your bowling arm. I think I remember noticing that when I rewatched your video after sending that whole message you just quoted.
Although I don’t think you were as bad in that aspect as the original person I was messaging...
A bit, the hardest part is stopping yourself from naturally pushing your hand outwards after your load up, as it is the natural path your hand takes.
I actually learnt this from the singular personal coaching session I’ve ever had. I don’t remember much of it tbh but I think I recall holding a...
