    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah it's quite easy to rectify, just practice it in a really exaggerated way initially. My 7 year old son helped me with it - it was him saying about it that made me decide to do something about it.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Honestly, having gone through these micro analysis of my own action and comparing with others, looking back all I seemed to be doing was going around in circles and getting nowhere. It wasn't until I stopped thinking about what I was doing and just got on with it that things came together. But...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

2nd over - the RH skewed it, was that dropped in the field?

Buy Peter Philpotts book 'The Art of Wrist Spin bowling' and read the section on 'Bowling around the loop' or look up bowling around the loop on Youtube, I've got a video which explains it, that might help.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah our hot week was dry. But we had some muggy hot days this summer - much lower 25c and that wasn't pleasant.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

I can't even imagine, how that would be. We had our heat records here broken summer 2021, it was 38c -39c for a period of about 5 or 6 days, dropping to 35c over night. That was tough for us, our houses are not set up for that. Playing in it was OK just the once - bit of a novelty in a way -...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah I like paddle sweep as well, that's neat little shot, only really feel confident with that shot against Leggies and over here, they're as rare as Rocking horse pooh, so rarely get to give it a go. Just on Google maps now looking at the satellite shots of cricket grounds in Perth, looks hot...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Just realised you've only got another 4 weeks and it's mid - summer, Jeez - that came round quick! Good to hear it's coming together. Are all your games on synthetic?

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah you're right, I never get away with it for long as I'm not that good at it and usually the change up in pace or length gets me LBW, but while I'm there it's probably the only shot I've got that'll get me a boundary.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Sweep shots been my go to shot this passed season - made a big difference coming in at No.11. Historically, I've always tried to be cautious and tried to hang around and see out the overs trying to get the other bloke on strike, but have come to realise I'm selling myself short. At the end of...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

" Was also all over one dude that’s not the best player of spin and got him through the gate at least 3 times" that'll be me! 😂 I've had finger spinners bowl me 5 or 6 times in succession in the nets!

    How do you get time!?

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Nah not really too busy playing. I rarely go and watch live cricket, if anything I make an effort to watch England Women as they tend to aways get a fixture up my way - Chelmsford, Essex and it's good to see the internationals and I'm a big fan of Women's cricket as well. I'll sometimes watch a...

He's gone off the boil a bit since that opening gambit what was it 6 or 7 wickets in one game? U19's?

    Yeah Pope that's the geezer.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

10 overs? What format are your games -is that a fifty over game? They change the rules and formats year on year here in between different leagues. The current format I play in is 40 overs and no-one is allowed to bowl over 8 overs. Several years ago, one bowler could have bowled 25 over from one...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah that sound good, that sounds like you've not quite mastered it so it comes out with top-spin. If that's mixed with your Leggies, that's probably going to look like wrong-un and then wont turn and they'll get done by the bounce as well.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

You're absolutely right with Batters, that bowl a bit of off-spin. Maybe it is a cultural thing, you've had top class leggies almost every decade, where as if you were to ask me about other English Leggies before Adil Rashid, yeah I'm struggling. But Aussies Benaud, Grimmett, MacGill, the little...

Nice, you watching the world cup - Zampa's on fire - just got Buttler for 1. He's top notch Zampa, a good bloke as well from the accounts I've heard of him.
