To be fair, the bigger issue is probably the fact that their thirds are playing against a 6ths XI, a big score against them doesn't make him a 1s or 2s cricketer. Probably just wanting to enjoy his cricket with his brother. Taking pot shots on here probably says all it needs to about you...
18 deliveries. If you're 3 fa you've bottled it.
Its a 160 over contest. Should be 3 overs on the change over and that's it. The option isn't offered in test cricket why would we water this particular rule down at local level. Its all part of the vagaries of the sport allowing for a momentum...
Dunno mate, been an opening bat too and on the end of plenty of hostile behaviour facing the last 10. Similarly, dished a bit out at the end of the day too.
My opinion is its all part of the game. Its not an enjoyable part of the day when batting but stiff sh*t.
Slightly better than average cricketers who put money above success? Recruiting these guys with the hope of winning a flag would be Einstein's definition of insanity.
I think its a shame for lower plenty to lose so many cricketers at once. Close to going up and could be relegated this season...
I played a season. Whilst there was the sprinkling of good cricketers overall the standard was shit. Weather was cold and damp and we played through fairly inclement weather such that we were only rained off once.
Ultimately, it was useful to keep ticking over, but the standard was not good...
But what is your point mate? My point is, that this system benefits those that develop talent from within their club as these players cost only a point. Its a system that encourages junior development at ALL clubs. Rather than a system that allows a club to spend money on recruiting mediocre...
Disagree mate. Points system is the better system as it is the only system I've seen put up that is transparent.
It rewards clubs that develop their own talent and when you go and look at a pro, or players from other comps, you want to get quality players that are a genuine upgrade on your...
have chased him a couple of times. Think they nearly got him previously. Its a good get no doubt. Can't make a 175* in Subbies ones unless you can seriously bat.
Simon Bray would also be a good get. Dunno what he's still doing there. Doesn't look like he will establish himself in their ones...
I agree that they're both too good for Mash. So win it and go up! If they are to put them in Money they will have to expand the grade for a season, maybe 2. I don't have a personal issue with it, I just think they should be consistent and make new clubs win their way up.
The NMCA is a two team...
If Mash decides to pull the pin at Premier level I suspect he will go back to Canterbury. Left on very good terms, and they've just been promoted to Dunstan.
Money Shield is a fair compromise like Camrea, Rosanna and Greensborough got 5 or more years ago.
Yes, but Money shield was the bottom first XI grade 5 or more years ago. So I'm not sure of the relevance. Indeed it was the addition of these clubs that was the forerunner to splitting the comp...
10/10/10 is a better format. The idea though that the DVCA wouldn't have to make any changes in the foreseeable future assumes no clubs would fold or leave the comp. This may or may not be an accurate assumption but I don't think you make decisions based on that. If those two teams left the...
Agree. DVCA doesn't need Rosebank or Rivergum. They are two teams running around in what is effectively a two team comp. I've little doubt that if the two sides joined in Mash, one year one would go up, the other the following year. From there it's anybody's guess, but if they're wanting to...
Hurstbridge have two sides (& a Vets), one of which they had to forfeit at least once this season. PH have 3 sides. Mash, E & G4. And your club by the sounds of things had no juniors, a walk out of many of your best players (sounds like your club has hit rock bottom and is building back up)...
