    2014/2015 Money Shield

34 wickets at 6.5! G'borough would have been happy with that return yeah?

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I don't blame the player, I'd personally never leave a club for money, not least because I know I shouldn't be payed to play. Some guys probably just enjoy the ego boost of being chased, and offered money. I would say this, I don't reckon good cricket clubs lose many players to other clubs...

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I think that's the right sentiment. I work all week, the last thing I want to do is start working Saturdays. Besides, my already mediocre batting would go to water with the pressure of earning my money each week! Mercenaries go where the best money is. That's the problem. If they have a stand...

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

Then the world has gone mad! I'd much rather play alongside ex Prem 1s players earning good coin, than a 22-23yr old journeyman who would be lucky to be getting a game getting payed a small sum (~1-2k maybe??). I hate to think that the culture of entitlement from getting paid to play local...

DVCA Best Bat/Bowler you have seen?

I'd add Josh McGinty try to the list of batsmen. Was very very good as a lone batsman. Comprehensive list though!

Yeah I might have to get in touch with my player manager!

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I refuse to believe a club would go out and pay a player who has made 250 runs in 15 hits in B-grade. But if he can get paid, good luck to him, he's a genious. My club would never pay a player of that calibre, and I doubt Bundoora are going that badly at the moment. They might want him for free...

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

If my club parachuted 3 blokes in and it cost me my spot I'd get my nose out. But for the other 8 blokes it'll be great to play with these guys. I've played with a couple of very good pros and it's always a thrill. wonder for how many years they can afford it. My main criticism is they have...

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I'd be very surprised if Diamo spend 35K (figure quoted on here, and speculation), on players. If your club doesn't produce the talent, you have to spend to compensate.

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

Arnberger is the prime example of a turf cricketer who just didn't adjust to all weather pitches. Has gone on to other metropolitan cricket and had some good seasons. Good example of why bowlers are a safer bet.

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

Yeah, I'm saying they have effectively taken a pay cut to play together. Less credentialed cricketers are getting more at other local clubs around Melbourne. I Don't disagree with the sentiment that 30K+ is a very large wage bill. Maybe someone down there has the money and has thrown it in to...

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

Are you suggesting 10k for Salm and 10k for Austin? That would be unders imo. Guys with that pedigree would certainly be able to get more than that if they wanted to shop themselves around.

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

Yeah, Steven Spoljaric's wife was being paid a large amount of money back in the day to do HMU's lunches. Points system isn't perfect, but with mycricket and subsequently, better records of where cricketers played their juniors, it would get better and better if they wanted to go that way...

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

This. If they were to ever do it. Points systems work better than salary caps or X paid players.

His numbers at Ringwood were very good. Maybe someone in the ECA is playing moneyball. There's some clubs with some decent salary caps in the ECA. Which Club?

    2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I'm not privvy to his plans, but who's to say he won't play 3-4 years with Riverside and then pull the pin. Not everone does a Baker, or Chesterton
