Rosbrook is about 33 isn't he. He's probably starting to wind down, and sees at as a good chance to finish up playing with his mates from Carlton, and earn some more money whilst he's at it. If thats the case you can't begrudge him.
Its a free market. And if guys are playing at your club for...
Would those same clubs who can't afford it, go out and spend $7k+ on players though? It's about priorities really. I think players don't like them, (not if this forum accurately reflects the playing populace) cricket victoria doesn't, the only people who like them are ploddy medium pacers and...
Both big losses. Young guys, easily in their best XI, wouldn't have thought they got paid, but won't be adequately replaced internally.
Henkel plays footy at Macleod, maybe he'll turn up there. From the outside, they seemed a tight bunch, maybe that fell apart when their spiritual leader Full...
Interesting, they can be so hit and miss. Like mentioned earlier though, the fast/medium bowlers tend to be better value than the batsmen. I wonder how much they cost compared to getting someone the likes of Austin or Salm (Riverside probably paid unders as these guys would have been able to...
Looking at his season, looks like he might have had a falling out??
Surprised to hear that, that's a few out the side. Henkel and Jephcott would be loses. They stagnated this year and a few sides went past them. Next year is a big year for clubs, it will be a good time to win the flag. Sammy...
Like all bowlers, they won't be able to hit the stumps bowling on a length, but they'll just have 3 short legs and get their wickets there.
Doyle, O'Connor and Gedge all had really good years with the ball, so they'll be taking overs from guys who performed well this year. I'll be interested...
Subbies page probably isn't the place for this question. But get some spikes. You won't find a piece of chalk or a texta behind the stumps to take guard with on turf. You can wait for the annual cricket sale they have in cheltenham in about september, they'll be half price there.
Yeah, I looked at his stats for the year. There's 1 game where he should poll all 6 votes, and one other where he could get 3, but otherwise no guarantees. Umpires often see the game different to the rest of us!
Salm heading in for a shoulder reco I read, so he might not be running around next season?
But if you can survive hurricane dylan cunningham these guys are a laugh.
Thats cricket mate. Look across a lot of the metro comps, and you have 3rd and or 4th knocking over the top sides in the semis. If you have a good tight grade then it is a good thing, this isn't JIKA where its Rivergum, Rosebank and daylight. All the sides in finals are very good sides. Rosbrook...
I think it depends a lot on how they perform when you play against them. Mont Albert probably think Patel is the next Don Bradman. The reason I'd pick Parsons, is because he's done it year in year out, with bat and ball. And because he averages ~100 in finals. Patel averages ~15 in finals.
I would have thought the Malvern Oakleigh game would be proof that there is no free ticket to a flag. Malvern knocked Caulfield off in the GF last year and smashed Oakleigh on the weekend.
Who knows, Damiano may have a wedding, bar mitzvah, cousin's birthday, hair cut or romantic weekend...
