Couldn't agree more. Having neutral venues is nonsense. All the pitches and grounds are much the same.
If it is played at a grand finalist's home ground it makes it easier to staff the bar/canteen and for half the spectators to get to the ground and stagger home again.
I remember neutral...
I think the whole of big cricket has been quiet for a long time.
As for Mont, unless they pull something out of their behinds in the first 30 mins on Saturday, it looks like their season is over.
But cricket is a funny game and Eltham got bowled out for less last game (84) than they are...
Back in October there was a post on this thread raising the issue of Whittlesea not fielding a 2nd's side. If I recall, the poster was told "Without knowing the ins and outs of a club your clearly not involved in. I'd keep your obviously big mouth to yourself"
Seems not much has changed up...
It's an odd situation. With two rounds to go, I think the only certainty to make the finals is Lower Plenty and they are 5th. Any one of the top 4 could and will miss out.
A hero is born.
Looking through the results, Toddy noticed an F3 Grade game where Thomastown batsman Robert Hanson scored 167 with 17 sixes in his team's score of 4 declared for 217 off 28 overs. He has played every game this season in Mash Shield.
What a legend.
Why should I keep my big mouth to myself? Isn't that what this website is for?
I've spoken to people that have left Whittlesea over the last couple of years. Internal politics, unethical behavior etc.
And you're right. You can't make people play cricket. People have got to want to play. Why do...
Warwick Todd doesn't mince his words. Whittlesea Township has a population of over 5,000 people and increasing all the time. Only 11 played cricket on Saturday.
It's a bit of a joke that Mash Shield and B Grade games are getting two umpires. It's hardly a high standard of cricket. It also means that lower grades are missing out on umpires. I wonder how long it will last.
Those that are unhappy with the fixture should redo the fixtures for all grades and grounds and let us compare it with the official fixture to see if it is an improvement.
