I would not want to be part of a club that has four 1st XI players get suspended and I would hope the captain and committee get rid of these players long before anything happens.
I remember many moons ago Diamond Creek forgot to pay their DVCA subs on time and lost points in all grades. Bad...
While there is no doubt that Lower Plenty lost their best player to Eltham, people seem to be ignoring how bad Mill Park are.
Last year they had the lowest percentage and avoided relegation by 3 points.
Toddy has been playing DVCA for decades. I've never played in a game where a player has been suspended.
Perhaps this rule will encourage clubs to weed out ferals and send them back to Jika.
The women in cricket issue highlights the corrupting influence of government.
The only reason clubs are chasing females is to get their hands on government grants (i.e. taxpayers money).
What's wrong with a club being for men only? Shouldn't men be able to have their own space? Do men's sheds...
Bit of a sledge in the AGM minutes from the DVCA President to the Mash Shield Clubs. And I agree with him.
"Joe remarked on the irony with the bye being the contentious issue regarding Bundoora Park’s admission to the DVCA, when in fact 5 of the Mash Shield clubs gave 17 forfeits themselves...
So now I'll have to wear a helmet facing 14 year olds in G Grade.
No mercy then, I'm going to smash them to all parts.
p.s. Phil Hughes was wearing a helmet.
I agree. Its all part of the game. Bowling a team out shouldn't grant you an advantage.
What if you lose a wicket 5 mins before tea? You have to come out and bat.
What if its rainy? You might have to go on and off multiple times, sometimes only batting for 5 or 10 minutes.
I like this proposed rule:
“Shield Grade players cannot be dropped more than one team at a time during a current season, unless during finals if their club has consecutive teams playing. The exception will be if the player has been unavailable for at least 3 consecutive matches.”
and this one...
Toddy couldn't agree more. While the promotion / relegation system is good, one up one down just doesn't even up the grades enough.
The DVCA executive have the power to put teams in any grade they like.
A reshuffle would be a good thing.
