Re: Cricket Albury/Wodonga 2009/10 Part 2
I love the way the CAW and the local media have talked up competition recently and there is no doubt cricket on the Border has benefited from the merger but its surprisingly being overlooked that things aren't quite as rosy. A couple examples are:-...
Re: Cricket Albury/Wodonga (CAW) 09/10
Interesting to note that having played in both the old ABCA and WDCA, the Wodonga guys were always happy to stay back after the game and have a drink with the opposition while the ABCA guys with the exception of the Patties and Tallangatta can't wait to...
Re: Bat Sticker
I've just had my 'Purist Original' repaired and i was wondering if anyone would have any idea where i could get replacement labels for the bat? Greg Chappell Cricket Centre and Kingsgrove Sports don't stock them.

Re: Cricket Albury/Wodonga (CAW) 09/10
Yeah, cricket in Wodonga is rapidly turning into the haves and have nots. The Doggies and Belvoir having 4 senior sides and apparently flush with the numbers and plenty of juniors. West Wodonga having to merge with the struggling Raiders who have been...
Re: Cricket Albury/Wodonga (CAW) 09/10
Heard the same thing the other day (where there's smoke there's fire), a nice little commission to be made with a hundred senior and junior teams running around with those balls every weekend.
Re: Cricket Albury/Wodonga (CAW) 09/10
I was told the Albury boys won't have a problem with numbers but they're A's are very thin on talent and are more likely to be down the bottom of the ladder fighting with Yack and Dederang to avoid relegation.
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Good luck to all the boys at Albury Cricket Club/Albury Titans/SSA for the 2009/10 season, but just remember boys form is temporary but class is permanent so show a bit on this forum.:):):)
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
What about a similar set up as the Wang comp, with A, A Reserve, B and C grades. The comp would look like:-
A Grade
*Nth Alb
*Wodonga
*Tallangatta
*Lavi...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Unfortunately thats exactly the point. With no Raiders in the comp and the Titans (Sorry Albury C.C.) and East's on the improve i'd expect them to be in for a max 2 seasons with Yack to finish bottom this year and the aging Ranga's the following year.
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Can't agree with you more in regard to the weakening of the other Provincial clubs, Dederang had to bring up 3 quarters of its players from Albury/Wodonga to win a District flag and now are beginning to raid other prov clubs with Dixon and more likely to come...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Well said LG, you can call a shit a rose but at the end of the day it still looks like a shit and smells like one. Unfortunately there are too many mangina's on the CAW board that are all bark and no bite.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Been told the 'official' line that 22 went to their AGM, they have 40 players on their books and Markham, Gilson, Hawking etc are returning. Bit hard to believe that after struggling to get 2 teams on the park at the end of last season. However, heard...

Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
With a batting line up of Dixon, Lodding, Taylor and Stewart as well as Josh Beard, Powles and Hales with the ball surely they would avoid relegation. Yack was bowled out against St Pats for 84 in their 1st innings and a 146 in the second after all.

Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Interesting, you obviously don't have any idea about the curating of wickets cause if you did you would realise that 40mm of rain the day before the game generally hinders the preparation of a turf wicket:rolleyes: Makes it a bit hard to cut the track and give it...
