Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Interesting, you obviously don't have any idea about the curating of wickets cause if you did you would realise that 40mm of rain the day before the game generally hinders the preparation of a turf wicket:rolleyes: Makes it a bit hard to cut the track and give it...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Went and had a look at the wicket at Willow yesterday it had a lot of grass on it and was a bit uneven but there seemed to be very little crumbling on the actual playing areas. Was talking to one of the guys who assisted with preparation of the track (who also...

Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
My advice for anyone on here who is fed up of all the bitching on this forum is to switch over to the Border Cricket forum on Big Footy. The talk is about cricket and not bitching about players and getting personnel.
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Mate have u played in both comps over the last 10 years? The standard of the District comp (WDCA) has dropped since the merger came into effect. No better quality Provincial (ABCA) cricketer will drop down to District level while the better quality juniors make...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Lets be honest IHM, Baranduda will always be the Paragon Pigdogs deep down. Until there is a significant changing of the guard at that club they will always have a culture problem.:):):)
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
At the moment the goss is:-
*PCYC doesn't look like getting off the ground (for this season anyway), almost all clubs against it. Possibility in the 2009/10 season.
*Thurgoona C Grade side
*Jindera fielding teams in the District comp
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
The latest news on the rumour mill at the moment are:-
*Yack don't want to be promoted but Mt Beauty are happy to be relegated
*Thurgoona, Beechworth and Myrtleford clubs have been sounded out about joining CAW
*PCYC have expressed interest in forming a...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Don't know about that rumour but i was reading the Border Cricket thread on Big Footy today (it's Dederang free!) that Wodonga was looking at a merger/takeover with West Wodonga. Heard Wodonga proposed that before the start of last season with the Provincial...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
For a few District clubs maybe. The guy hardly took the Wodonga and District apart when he played here last and apparently wants a pretty attractive offer (eg. Money, Job etc) to even look at joining a club. Sri Lanka's A side must have been washed...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Wodonga Raiders were very disappointed to lose Bradsworth as they invested a lot of time in the kid and expected him to be an A grader this year. He is a handy cricketer at District level but wouldn't he have been better served playing in the Provincial comp and...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Interesting results at the weekend, East Albury beating Wodonga outright was no surprise, as was St. Pats losing to Tallangatta and Lavi getting their arse kicked against the hoppers also. Raiders bowling out the "the best batting side in the comp" (Albury...
Re: Make way for China?
To help get the game there to grow why can't a 20/20 comp like the Indian Cricket League be formed? TV exposure would be enormous especially if retired greats were invited to play, eg. Warne, Lara, McGrath. Maybe even a ODI between two countries. :confused...
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Stevie Mac had a fair bit of success when he crossed over, Rohan Evans made a couple of tons and Cam Lodding won the comp batting the season he crossed over. The quality of players who swapped comps were far from the elite in the ABCA and the quality of the...
Re: Who is the most frugal player at your club?
Is this the same guy that is to lousy to get a drivers licence because of the cost of fuel? Jumps the fence during footy season and is the first one into the esky for a free beer?   :
Re: Cricket Albury/wodonga (caw)
Don't worry about Bethanga big guy a good mate of mine was telling me that it didn't faze them trying to take their juniors a few years back when they had the junior rep coach coaching them. Stiff ******** for them i say, they had 2 lower grade sides for what, 10...
Who is the most frugal player at your club?
I know a bloke called "The Silverback" who puts the club's best gloves in his own bag for the season and returns them at the end of the season. Who else has any tales to tell?
