Ground not ready. Playing a one dayer next Sunday. Not only forfeits in One day comp but in B & C mats. Newport -digman should be thrown out after 3 forfeits in a row.

Where was Frank Henry? He always umpires the games at Seabrook, firsts and seconds. Clubs are lucky to get a good umpire like him down in West B.

Why did Newport digman forfeit their game in B matting? Surely with 3 turf teams not playing yesterday and having junior teams they could field a side. If there that short of players then it looks like they will be pulling the side out and there will be a bye.

I have had a look at some of the turf pitches in the comp and theres no way that clubs will be playing this week. Will be interesting to see which players turn up in the hard wicket games on Saturday.

Laverton might also go alright now considering they made the change of capt/coach. Laverton have a new coach, Mal Hartshorne, but he's not a captain/coach.

I think you've heard wrong about GU leaving, the VTCA put a deadline for clubs to join at July 31 & GU are not on the list of clubs on the VTCA website.

By WN I take it you mean West Newport. How have they manipulated the comp in recent times? They manipulated a semifinal by time wasting on the field not by running the comp.

That is how it was described to me by my clubs delegate who was at the meeting. Apparently were more concerned about their 2nds playing in B turf than being in A turf & told meeting that they were thinking of going to VTCA.

Also heard that at the meeting when Bell Bridge were told they would be in A & B turf they threatened they would go to VTCA too.
