After two relegations in two seasons, it looks like Werribee Centrals have found how to win again, in West B1. With the great man, Phabulous Phil Crea, back in charge they can look at rising up through the grades again.
What happened at Gellibrand on Saturday? How come the game never started? Surely the covers were down as per the notice on the comp website. There was a chance for an outright for either side.
Well he was half right, the're up in A1, & thank god they are. If they hadn't organised to play at Saint Pauls & volunteered to go up we might not have a turf comp.
Who'd have thought that when Newport Digman were getting their A1 premiership pennant that same night they were going to be wooden...
They had quantity, eleven players as bowling figures were: 5 for 4 & 5 for 2, obviously not quality. It's not often a side would be able to enforce a follow on after only making 126.
I remember a couple of similar scores from my day. Spotswood all out 6 vs OEG, North D, 1985-86 & Youlden...
Have Moonee Valley in North A2 put themselves in the record book with their score yesterday of 6, all out, from 17.2 overs. Anyone know of a lower score in VTCA?
What reserve days? There aren't any this season, clubs didn't want them. Surely the person from Npt-Digman who went to the meeting would have passed that on to the club. All the other clubs know.
My question was "when did VTCA last play on the first Saturday in October". It wasn't last year because there was no play on !st October & round 1 commenced on 8th October.
No we didn't. Saturday, October 1st, was the AFL Grand final & there was no cricket.
The last time there was play on the first Saturday in October was in 2006-07, the only time this century.
Turf cricket off because majority of grounds not ready. Be interesting to see who ends up playing on the hard wickets on Saturday with VTCA off as well.
Fixtures are on the comp website. A1 teams 2nds are in B1 & B2, stronger 2nds in B1 & others in B2. See your 2nds are playing on the synthetic & your 1sts away while your pitch not ready.
hussler the second most important thing in the gradings is that Melton Sth are in A turf & playing at Saint Pauls. Don't know how they organized it but at least Point Cook's been replaced.
West Newport already in the headlines & they haven't played a game yet. Front page of the Star says neighbors complaining about the noise they make at Loft when they stay open all night.
Maybe titb lives next to Loft & hates West because they keep him awake all night!
