The western division was going to be for the WDCA sides when they crossed over, there was copy of the new grade & the sides that would be in it shown to delegates at a WDCA meeting last year. The MMVCA sides are going to be in a new north west comp.
Just opened my Hobsons Bay Leader & there it is, Willy Imps ad for a captain/coach. Titb's phone's going to be running hot with all the applicants. Doesn't happen very often that someone will get to be a premiership coach in their first year. I thought they would have gone internally & appointed...
I think there are talks going on. I think it's more than a coincidence that Chris Hatzoglou was at our Presentation night, he is the head honcho of the Western Region Juniors but he's also head honcho of Sunshine Heights.
No, Altona North are to get two turf pitches alongside each other & clubrooms comparable to what they will be leaving. Anyway , Laverton are waiting on Altona Green to become available so they can get their 3rds & 4ths on there. They're still fuming over the council taking their 3rds off Altona...
Neither of those grounds. Three grounds are to be developed behind Laverton's ground, between Laverton Creek & the railway line, two ovals for cricket/football & the other for athletics. Work is to start shortly.
The Western Jets need both ovals for training of their various squads all year...
Hobsons Bay Council will be giving the Western Jets twelve month control of Crofts Reserve in the future. Altona North are to be relocated to a new ground the council will be developing in Altona Meadows. The money that even a under 18 team like the Western Jets can spend on ground improvement &...
Phil Crea won't be coaching GU next year. He did an interview in the Werribee paper (Wyndham Weekly) at the start of the season & said he was only coaching for one season. Phil wouldn't be lying so GU must be looking for a new coach.
Do they have extra large cubicles at Altona RSL? There's no...
Why would they not go up? They've been trying for a premiership for over 20 years & previously they went up from North A1 without a flag. They've got the finances to match it with the big boys in Senior. Hoppers have set a VTCA record that will take some beating, being relegated, then...
Sure, the comp's got more sides, but the're not on turf. We're only as strong as our A grade & that's only 8 teams, down from 10 the year before. It's not that long ago it used to be 12. If a club or two did leave from A1 who would replace them? ANA or Deer Park or Hoppers Club? None of them are...
It's no rumour, it's fact. VTCA are having a Northwest grade for the MMVCA sides & they will set up a Western grade for our sides. They showed the gradings to our clubs last year when they wanted us to take all our turf sides over.At the last comp meeting our clubs said that they weren't...
WDCA must be gaining respect out there when one of the top clubs from VTCA is advertising for players from the comp!
We can fill their list from the ones that post on here. Weapons, hussler, checkerman, gbanger 13,commentator & geeno will be able to cover the positions needed.
You're right titb, 20 A turf premierships would be a record. Unfortunately for the Imps they don't have 20 A turf premierships.
My count only comes to 16, from when A turf started in 1946 to 2011. Interesting things you find in WDCA annual report.
