It's not that I focus more on my wrist, it just comes out naturally like that. I want my shoulder, elbow, fingers, wrist and so forth to work together, but I use my wrist predominantly to apply speed and energy to the ball.
Lots of people spin the ball a lot and turn it a long way. But I think...
There was a commentator who had a look at hawk-eye analysis of Shane Warne's line and length on almost every pitch he bowled on. Not sure who it was, I think it was David Lloyd (or another commentator that sounds a bit like him) He found out the spot where Warne liked to pitch the ball on nearly...
My PC is having internet connection problems, so I created a new account via my phone. Unfortunately money gets deducted from my phone for no reason and per message, so I want to terminate it and just wait till I have internet connection on my PC again.
Easy to pick, but they still have to play it.
Sorry then I can't help you, perhaps just bowling with more top spin and trying to get more revs will allow you to get more flight? But for that to happen you need to get lots of revs, and the ability to apply varying degrees of side and over spin.
Try not using your leading arm at all. That's what I do sometimes. Put your leading arm in your pocket, it really works! :D
Or you could try bracing your front leg a bit more, that always slows me down even though it's supposed to increase speed.
That's natural variation. No one can prevent that from happening. It's just a matter of watching the revs and the angle and judging the amount that the ball will most likely turn, and if the ball isn't on the stumps, just making sure you don't play for too much turn or no turn at all.
An off...
That's Adam Zampa :)
Warne was always famous for his "low" arm action, but 70 degrees isn't low! Richie Benaud completely loses the plot in one of his videos where he says that his bowling arm was around 45 degrees, and Shane Warne a little bit lower. Not a very good observation!
My bowling...
Not really, the shiny side has more mass because the fielding team apply sweat and saliva to it, and shine it regularly (the shine also adds some weight) but the rough side keeps getting scuffed up and loses part of it's weight.
The reason why the ball swings towards the rough side is because...
Last year and last season I was always having problems with aches and pains in my bowling shoulder, but these days I don't feel them at all. Only a little stiffness in my shoulder before I start to bowl which goes away once I'm done warming up.
As far as I know my shoulder is under almost no...
Leg spin - I'm a left arm leggy myself (chinaman) Do you mean any leg spinner or just away spin in general? It's interesting that Warne preferred bowling to left-handers when the ball wa turning (which sounds like every ball he ever bowled to me) But I can understand why, they have to play each...
What does it mean to get more over your front leg? Please explain it to me, I understand absolutely nothing about that, and it's something a few people have told me already
Why on earth would I want to sacrifice revs for accuracy?! That's just wrong.
If your trying to do a lot with the ball you will overpitch rather than underpitch most of the time. Luckily a dipping drifting full toss is more difficult to deal with than a slightly turning long hop.
The international spinners these days irritate me so much! They don't do anything with the...
My computer keeps giving me email alerts when someone replied to something I said on Bigcricket. I click on the "stop watching thread" button but still get email alerts all the time! How can I stop getting email alerts?
You must remember that your grip is unorthodox. For most people holding the rough side on the inside doesn't neccesarily provide better grip. I've noticed a bit more drift in scrambled seam deliveries! And definitely more drift in my 45 degree OBS with the rough on the inside of my palm (because...
Of course the ball shouldn't just pitch on that spot, any batsman will drive / sweep that into oblivion. The ball has to loop up and drop shorter than expected. It also has to drift, constantly arcing though the air.
That's why accuracy in spin bowling is so difficult, you have a small spot on...
