In other threads on this forum people talk about drinking their own bathwater! The pres bottles some just in case of another severe drought so that he has adequate supply. In case of emergency - break glass!!
Wow tough crowd!! It is important for the comp that we have emerging and sucessful teams otherwise we will end up like the other mob. Dominated by 2 teams for 20 years. I would be instructing my club to look at how they have transformed to success and implement those strategies. It is all...
The DVCA constitution was changed last year to relax the "boundaries" and allow clubs that would not have been considered before entry into the DVCA. Now looks like we are full so that change really means zip unless a club folds.
Promotion and relegation will apply. The re-grading of teams will be at the discretion of the Executive. There will be additional teams promoted to increase B to D grade to 10 teams.
Proposal for clubs is:
Rosebank 1st XI into Mash
Rosebank 2nd X1 - D Grade
B – D Grades will all go to 10 teams
E grade will stay as 8 teams and 80 overs/4 piece ball
Under the rules he can be granted a permit to play with his old club. The rule does not say he can play wherever the DVCA decides. DVCA allow marquee players to play 20/20 games I cannot see a difference. One of the reasons junior associations exist is breeding grounds for cricketers and...
Not sure of Micky Edwards status but Dave Worthington wanted to come back at Xmas. Clearances are open until Xmas. He is going back to his original club. Not sure why he was aloowed to play but only where DVCA allowed him to. That is not the DVCA's prerogative. Administer to the rules do not...
I heard that Suburban footy leagues will be having a meeting next Tuesday post the easing of restriction announcements. Good Friday is April 2nd so DVCA could play until Sunday March 28th. Then footy could start straight after Easter. I think after the meeting next Tuesday things could be clearer.
There is not much too get wrong to be fair as the clubs run their own race. But it seems every time the DVCA intervene or post a ruling they seem to get it wrong. The Dave Worthington decision was a case in point. Do you want the best players in the comp or not. It could be argued that including...
And my lips did't even move!!! Part of my criteria is on field but a major portion is off field. They have a huge junior program in an area that surrounding clubs cant make a go of. They have mainly home grown in their sides and promote the kids through the ranks. Well led by HT they have it all...
That is not correct. I actually admire many clubs in the comp and I believe most do a great job some just better than others. I think Banyule is the DVCA best performing club currently but there are many more. If Dan Gilbert was able to do the job I would think he would be a candidate.
I gonna try and dumb this down so even you can get it.. 10 in Barclay and 10 in Money. Even draw all Barclay and Money play one and two dayers on same day. Have 12 in Mash ( by bringing in extra clubs) you now have a differing fixture if you want everyone to play each other. So Mash plays one...
The DVCA just administors the comp. It's mandate is not to run clubs. If you want to know what success looks like see Diamnond Creek who 15-20 years ago put a strong junior program in place. Now they are reaping the rewards of that vision. You want success have a 5-10-15-20 year plan. That is...
