What's crap about it Sledge? - the fixtures were posted on the VTCA website. Once again Sledge, you should actually read what is written before shooting your mouth off
And I know the delegates meeting was last night, I was almost there.
We were close last night, but they still need work
I'd prefer they take their time and get it right. What we saw last night (for about 10 minutes) was not right
Once again, at the president's meeting the consensus from the top table was that 2nds comps would remain. It has long been thrown up on these fora that getting rid of them was a way to increase the depth of the south - and now it looks like they are going to do it, but only part way therefore...
If Aspendale have gone up to South, it looks like their 2nds haven’t come up – which is probably fair enough given they had a heap of kids last year, and struggled. Why don’t they then bring up Bonbeach Tangy, who finished on top and made the GF in South A2
And how many teams does this leave...
Clayton were already down a month – they have byes in 2 two dayers. I think Moorabbin Park missed 3 days with byes. Hard to justify to your members – “look guys you will miss 4 days of cricket for no particular reason, but if you don’t mind playing the same amount of fees that will be great”...
Saw the draft (hopefully) fixture for south seconds. 9 teams, 11 rounds. Two teams have 2 byes - I wouldn't be happy if I was Clayton who were pencilled in to miss 4 days of cricket out of 21!!! And I'm tipping it wouldn't align with the south division who all probably have 8 teams. If this is...
That makes perfect sense – the fact you would stop somebody playing a game of cricket, solely because they got their clearance in after December 31st is ridiculous. We should be encouraging people to play cricket, not putting barriers up
That might be the something I didn’t think of!!
There will be 2nds teams without 1st teams in the aligned comp, or vice versa – so only thing I can think of is if OMCC and McKinnon align as the 1st and 2nds in the one comp (say South A and South A seconds). But that only makes 17 teams...
Works well. It does give you an extra Sunday game, and it can sometimes cause issues when your lower grades are in the middle of a two day game and you have to find a player for the 2nd one day game in a two week block (if that makes sense) – but playing every team in 1 and 2 day games is...
With 16 sides left in South (outside of Senior), you’d figure 8 and 8 in each division, which would mean either Clayton don’t come up from South A, or 3 go down from last year’s South – or something else that I couldn’t think of
Yep, I'm sure many (including myself) suggested this a while back. Will be interested to see if it becomes an official decision
AGM has been pushed back two weeks
Probably love him more watching him playing tests for 15 years, but I know what you mean and agree 100%. Well done again to McKinnon for seeing the fruits of a super development program
Well done to McKinnon for developing a test player. Something we at Hampton would love to claim. Just a shame if Ashton went back to his home club next season it is as a 5 point player :D
