While I do enjoy seeing people wind up Tongs, this defies logic. Why would an Eltham cricketer start playing for a club 20km away? Driving across Melbourne in Saturday morning traffic, trying to get home from social functions....... any DVCA player who went to Tongs new club would get sick of it...
How are things going at the Burwood Bulls, Tongs? Any big recruits (apart from yourself)? How's Lynden Park looking? Are you getting paid a petrol allowance?
The top team in Money Shield is Eltham, and 3 of the top 4 teams are only a few kilometers from Lower Eltham's ground. Makes sense to me.
Imagine an Eltham/Lower Plenty v North Eltham grand final in Mernda. That might make you happy, but no one else!
I seemed to have massively overrated both Lower Plenty and North Eltham. You wouldn't expect 1st and 2nd on the ladder to lose their last 2 games.
But now in the semi finals, anything can happen.
Greensborough's had a big year - all senior sides on the bottom of the ladder.
33 games
2 wins
2 heat-outs
23 first innings losses
6 outright losses
Am I right in hearing the club might be in a bit of trouble next year re: folding?
I have no sympathy for Bundoora United. They cheated and got caught. They should be booted out of the comp. Go and play in the Northcote and Preston Churches Cricket Association where they belong.
Looking at the fixture, Lalor Stars could very easily miss the finals. They are playing Monty (5th), North Eltham (2nd) and Lower Plenty (1st) last 3 rounds.
Monty are 12 points out, but play Lalor (4th), Hurstbridge (12th) and Greensborough (11th).
I think whoever wins out of Lalor and Mont...
Although I was only joking about losing points for cheating, it is amazing me all the worry over the ladder at the moment.
A close inspection of Mycricket shows that not all games are being displayed on the ladder. While 6 rounds have been played, its only showing 4 played for Eltham, 5 for...
I don't think the DVCA executive have covered themselves in glory with this heat out.
It is already over 38 in Viewbank, and was always expected to be in the low 40's today, yet the day hasn't been called off at 11.45.
There is no cool change forecast. The DVCA executive is just messing...
