Tough to pick teams this early for the flag but Laverton are as good a side that I have played in the last few years. Would beat anything that the MMVCA has served up in the last ten years. Bowling was good without being spectacular, but thier batting was classy. Good luck too all bowling...
Only picture ever taken of me LOLL, so thats its. Would have preferred it being a pull shot from a short ball from Smoke as I put it over the fence. Unfortunately the photographer missed that shot on several occassions. Lol
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11
Heard today, that one of St Andrews young guns has headed to Glenroy. If thats true. Odds on Glenroy.
Also looking forward to hosting a few A Turf games down at Hallam Reserve in the next month. Knew I would catch up with you guys for a beer.
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11
Thanks Dave. Maybe you guys are heading our way. Apparently another club from the MMVCA has committed to the VTCA for the 2011/12 season.
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11
Dangerous territory your entering there Fresh Prince. Only need to ask Sunshine Heights or several other clubs he has been involved in.
Always got along with you blokes, so wish you all the best.
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11
LOLL,
playing on better tracks was a small part of the decision but the main reason is where the club is at the moment in terms of its playing stocks. With 85% of our top three sides under the age of 23, there has been alot of talk from these guys...
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11
Most likely, like every other year, its getting the go ahead for grounds from the council. Can't do much until then.

From what I've heard they will only need to play in A Grade for this season as there will be a bye the following season, so they then can go back down to B Grade to eliminate the bye.
Re: North A and B 2010/11
I think you'll find that the VMCU were the one's responsible for the season finishing with two one day games. They are the ones who set the playing dates, but being new to this comp, I'm unaware whether the VTCA has always followed the dates set by the VMCU in the past.
Re: North A and B 2010/11
Ok Howla, I take it your from the MMVCA and thier is plenty of sour grapes from your posts. Mate, get over it, Merlo has moved on and for the reasons why, well thats none of your business. Most of the guys on this site couldn't care less why we have joined. The club...

Might have to check some of your sources, there Smoke. There's at least two there that I know aren't playing there, with a third highly unlikely.
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2009/10
Can't believe blokes complain about our wickets. They may look terrible but they play well. As long as they are hard, then they will be right.
Will get dodgy wickets every now and then, but that will happen in all comps.
Basically, just too many...
