Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat
MMVCA was formed from the merger of the CDCA and the Churches comp. Since that merger no other comp has merged with the MMVCA. St Marys, St Francis and Ascot Vale have always been members of the MMVCA but have at one time gone from switching from having their...
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat
11 clubs for (20 votes)
12 clubs against (24 votes)
2 clubs didn't turn up to vote (3 votes)
Needed 36 votes for the merger to go thru.
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
This season we had the biggest and Strongest Exec that we have had for years. I'd like to think our comp is in good hands.
Anyhow, I suppose we can close this thread and get back to setting up for next season.
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
No, it is only one board. Yes, there will be committees underneath. But there is only one board.
In the end we will agree to disagree on this merger. It will be all over, one way or the other tomorrow night.
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
If clubs can except the new constitution and the control that the new board will have then good luck to them. We can't. I am looking at the big picture and that is what competition will serve my club better in the long term.
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
I think you have missed the major point here. Our club has never had the view of being taken over, unlike what other clubs think.

I don't have any extra info then other clubs...
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat
Take your point about relegation/promotion and realise that the Senior Division is of a higher standard, but the point I'm trying to make is that in the end we are just playing with mates at the clubs we love being at, no matter which comp that is.
I would...
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat
Still haven't convinced me. In the end both comps are just park cricket level. Yet to ever hear of a player who has knocked back one club to play for another purely because they play in the VTCA.
Any well run club or a club who is pro-active will attract...
Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat
I would be absolutely staggered if any teams from this comp left to go to the VTCA. I can't see any benefits in it at all.
But if it was too happen, we have two clubs who have their first eleven in B Turf who could come up.
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
For those that aren't aware, a new committee has been put in place if the merger goes ahead.
President: Dave Lyons
Senior Vice President: Paul Rigg
Junior Vice President: Steven Knight
Finance Director: Matt Cervetto
CEO: Terry Scott
Board Member: Brett Pallini
Re: MMVCA and NWCA Merger
All MMVCA club secretaries would have received the final copy of the By Laws and Constitution today. The vote is on April 15th.
If you have questions about the merge, then now is the time to ask your club and to find out which they are voting and why.
No point in...
