Was probably top dressed the week u were there, this is common practice to reduce thatch build up and keep a healthy level playing surface. If done properly the sand will settle after a week or two.

We were asked at McKinnon if it works for us and since we won the senior 2nds flag last year felt we would be able to be competitive in south A

Happened a couple of years ago when Greenvale didn't field a senior 2nds side.. Not ideal but beats having a bye a missing two weeks.. Overall I think the VTCA have done well with the draw under challenging conditions. a

So at a guess.. South Div - Port, Murr, Moor Pk, Mck, Carn, Bonbeach, Hamp, Clayton, Chelt & Chelsea South A - Highett, Aspen, Park Utd, Mid Pk, Heatherton, Mentone, Mck 2nds & Old Men 2nds Did I miss anyone?

From what I've heard and can figure out the VTCA has attempted to satisfy all the south clubs requests but in doing so the divisions have become lopsided... In the end I just want to have a game of cricket each Saturday, so to avoid byes hopefully clubs can compromise a bit to make sure we have...

I think 4 onedayers to start then the normal 2 after Xmas (like the 11 round system) a the 7th onedayer on a Sunday.. That would match up with the other grades and give a good mix..

in order to keep 5 sides in the VTCA McKinnon need to play their 2nds in south A or 3rds in South A2 and on top of that I believe Old Mentonians are playing their 2nds in one of the south divisions aswell so there is some work to do to make that work...

Don't even know who is in South A at this stage?

Pretty sure we have been offered similar at mckinnon (1sts in South div, 2nds south A, 3rds in South Seconds and 4ths South C1)

In the UK right now but word from home is we (McKinnon) will be keeping all our five senior grades in the VTCA..

Care to name the 25 clubs? Relegation of my club isn't the issue.. Pretty happy to play south div and not have sit in the car for an hour to travel to some sh&t hole to play against 4 overpaid "superstars" and 7 footballers dressed in whites...

Couldnt see the South side of the VTCA lasting past this season time to move on let the north go do there own thing i wont miss them.. Never played in the Mercantile but im sure if enough us went across the standard would be lifted and they be happy to have us!

Does the VTCA still exist? Greenvale Kangaroos Premier Cricket Club? Can i throw away my melways yet?
