Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread
Usman Khawaja could be another top-middle order young batsman to look out for in the future. Average of 47.33 at FC level, and one would think if he keeps this up for another season or two he would be right up there.
Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread
I wasn't trying to start an argument, nor was I trying to prove a point. I was just questioning whether he has to be played as an opener.
Re: Pakistan in Australia
K.Akmal couldn't catch a cold. He's a horrible keeper from what I've seen over the past 2 matches, he drops even just normal balls carrying through to him.
EDIT: One would feel Marcus North is in danger.
Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread
The only times I have seen him against spin are Paul Harris and Danish Kaneria. Smashed Paul Harris on the way to his hundred, and was batting very well against Kaneria today.
Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread
Not sure why the selectors feel they have to play Hughes as an opener. He has been impressive against spin, and I feel he would do well in the middle order. While they could still have Katich and Watson opening.
Re: Pakistan in Australia
He hasn't always been as good a bat as them, but what has that got to do with the now?
Since his inclusion in the Ashes, I'm pretty sure he has the best batting record in our team. That would suggest he's performing better than anyone in our team with the bat...
Re: Left Handed Batsmen
Yeah, there's a lefty in my team who bats right handed and bowls left handed. He also throws right handed though. I was only talking about the pure lefties.
Re: Who takes the cheap wickets? Australia's bowling summary.
I did one on Brett Lee to dispell the myth that he takes tail end wickets. His was very high with 233 of his 310 wickets being top 7 batsmen, 75% IIRC.
Due to being on holidays I might give it a shot after the new year...
Re: Pakistan in Australia
I think his bowling is underrated. He was probably our best bowler in that series in India before getting injured, and is certainly looking dangerous with his swing. His idea of holding his action together is good.
