Sounds like a collective stuff up to me! So both teams playing the Grand Final were at the GF Meeting but didn't do anything about it either?? If I or my club was playing I would have tried covering the whole ground myself! Done now, lets move on to an exciting 2016/17 hey.
It was actually the VTCA who advised the covers didn't need to be down on the first night it rained if my sources are correct, so I believe Spotswood were following what was advised by the VTCA.
Either way you can keep going with your negative rubbish about something in the past or move on...
Probably a bit harsh just picking on Spotswood, I'm pretty sure most clubs in the VTCA (at least at the higher divisions) have blokes who've played at other clubs.....
Was there a hearing into the West Coburg vs Royal Park game where the covers were removed and no play on the 2nd day?
If Royal Park had have got the win, they could have avoided relegation and it could change the final 4 positions, big protest, interesting to see if anything comes of it.....
Unfortunately no play this weekend, but there will be a couple of close 1-dayers I would think!
Sth Caulfield vs Yarraville always promises to be a great game. I agree with you North, never right off Yarraville, but Sth Caulfield look strong!
If you have lost faith in this comp and think its a joke, there are a lot of other comps and clubs out there you could go and play for!! Or you could join the committee and have your voice heard!
Either way, enough of the banging on about what's wrong and start talking about the actual cricket...
Well said! You play a young bloke who you have progressed through a junior program and he has developed into a player good enough to play Senior cricket but you are penalised 2 points for your efforts.
Very reasonable question. If they dealt with the matter correctly from day 1 they wouldnt have had to go to court and the teams wouldn't be wondering what the hell is going on re finals and relegation.
And yes they probably have spent a bucket load of clubs money on this.
Good luck to all on...
so 9/253 one week and then 15/189 the following week, if they did get the covers down they obviously didnt prepare it very well before putting the covers down!!!!!!
That question has been asked in a couple of the forums, but no one is answering, would love to know if there will actually be cricket this week. Surely with this weather the groundsman could get a wicket prepared for the weekend....
Will be a big effort by Hoppers to cover the loss of one bloke who took 58 wickets (including 7 5wi hauls), Jan a good player but not a 58 wickets a season player. Yarraville again to be very strong with 2 great additions. Beaumaris strong with the addition of Hall alongside Hewett.
Southern, it doesnt matter who was at the meeting from what clubs, you can't change the rules of cricket.
If there is a leg-side stumping given not-out because its called a No-Ball, there will be some pretty unpleasant scenes I would think. I hope some common sense (as per the rules of cricket)...
Can someone please explain how they came up with this?? Surely it has to be a "wide" and not a "No Ball"?? So no legside stumpings available after the 1st leg side ball of the over, seems crazy to me!!
M3.64 After the second ball passing outside leg stump in any over, the umpire shall call “No...
I agree that Yarraville will go on and win, but I don't think they'll be slower or more careful, its the way they play, agressive cricket and I'm sure Ion won't slow down, if its there he will smack it and I think will probably put the game out of Beauy's reach by tea.
