So thoughts on the first two rounds of the season?
South Caulfield look the side to beat for mine, good start to the year from them.
Interesting result at Hampton, looks like their last man was run out last ball of the innings forcing the game into a tie.
Think Bentleigh have recruited well. Know that Beaumaris looked at Meredith but couldn't fit him under the points, presumably with Hall coming back costing them plenty.
Should be a tight season ahead I think, not seeing any teams that look too weak, agree that Yarraville will go in as...
^That's how it should be. Also encourages players to play, knowing they don't have to spend every second fortnight travelling across the City for a game of cricket, sacrificing other things such as work in the process.
It's not as if it's difficult to do. Get the lads, once finished training, to quickly run onto the ground... takes maybe 5 minutes... Common sense really
Considering I've retired, nope. Wouldn't bothered me in the slightest.
Looks like decent enough weather at the moment, had the grade not been called off I'd suspect decks would and could have been prepared... you play cricket to play, not to be called off mid-week. (but that's just my opinion)
So there might be a few green tops instead of the usual roads we see in this comp, give the bowlers a chance for a change instead of making games into drab grind-fests for the batsmen.
Strange that they let OMs do that, think a lot more clubs would be pushing for their seconds teams to play closer to home
What the hell is going on with Senior Div this year, 2 more monster scores this week with the Clubbers 6-383 and South Caulfield 4-409. Bit stiff to declare before the...
That's not even a good deck though. That's just an out-and-out road. Not much fun bowling on that.
Very difficult to come from that far back, be a big step backwards for Beaumaris in this division
Yeh wow. 8/381 is staggering. 80 overs is a long time, so I think the low scores we regularly see in the VTCA is at the least somewhat odd, but 381 is a monster score from Greenvale. Rest of the comp, watch out.
^ I'm sure there'd be plenty of kids around the cricket club who'd happily do it if there clubs did something like this. Good way to bring kids into the community
Hence why I said I wasn't surprised.
Even though Banksia is a road, OMs still favourite to defend that score I'd think, they play good defensive cricket. As you said those guns in the top 5 will need to get going
Yet to see Bentleigh, but on paper looking good at the moment, hoping to catch...
Not surprised at OMs result, I saw it at 3-55 or so, but their strength has always been batting right through the order. Think they'll nab the points with a strong total on the board now.
Was going to head down to Bentleigh, but didn't end up going, was it a flat track or just very good...
A tie between Yarraville and Bernads in the opening round. Very interesting.
Greenvale easy winners against newbies Strathmore
OMs with young cats forward Mitch Brown too good for Districts
Hoppers apparently smashed by APW
A very weak Beaumaris side dispatched by South Caulfield who looked...
