3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Ponting comes back, but instead of dropping Hodge, they drop Haddin instead.

Go figure!

Australia batting first, off to a good start at 42-0 after 6 overs.
Hayden on fire early.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Gilchrist was out for 29, but the Aussies are still going strong.
86-1 after 15

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

201-3 after 39

Hayden eventually was out for 60. Clarke is having another good day, and he and Symonds should get Australia pretty close to 300.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Absolute disgrace that Haddin was dropped instead of Hodge. Hodge is bloody useless. |@

Anyway, Hayden and Ponting are the dismissed batters since then. Hayden edged one to Dhoni off Pathan for 60 and Ponting was out to Yuvraj Singh for a scratchy 25.

Currently, Australia are 3/207 from 40 overs, Michael Clarke is 45 not out and Andy Symonds is on 33.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Clarke out for 59, but Symonds is still in there on 72. That partnership was good for 123 runs, and was probably good enough to win the match.

Australia 258-4 after 45.

Super hack Hodge is bowled for three by Zaheer Khan.

5/263 in the 47th over. 290 would be the best they can get now.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Brad Hodge out for 3, looking to slog tho I suppose.

out after only scoring 3 from 7 balls

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

I say bring in some youth with Voges. Nickname for Hodge is the Clothesline - loves to hang his bat out to dry.

Haddin is the sort of player you want batting at number six. He is a good bat but more importantly, he can hit the ball a country mile when required. Today would have been the ideal situation for him to go and score maybe a quick 20 or 25 not out off not many balls.

Hodge is not a hitter at all. I don't know how many more chances he can get. He's failed three times in this series already and twice he had a big opportunity to go on and make a big score.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Dhoni's decision to bowl Yuvraj an extra over could cost India the match

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Gambhir and Uthappa both out.

India 11-2 and in trouble early.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

This series is not a contest at all, winning the Twenty20 World Cup got things in India's head. 50 over version is a totally different form of the sport and it's clear India is suffering from a serious hangover, especially bowling. It doesn't help that Sreesanth doesn't have much of a discipline, I wonder how long before he is let go.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Batting isn't much better either. Dravid out for a duck as Brett Lee gets his second wicket.

3/13 in the 5th over. Tendulakr is still there and he will need a big score for India to have any hope.

Dravid out for a duck too.

You're right, so far this series has been very one-sided.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Dhoni needs to pick up his batting here. He knows he is a lot better batsman than what he has been putting up lately. This is when it matters and men get separated from boys, I've been getting sick of Dhoni's innings dominated by singles and 2's.

Re: 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad

Brett Lee was Australia's best bowler with 3/37 and Brad Hogg chimed in yet again with 3/46.

Yuvraj Singh made a nice century but it wasn't enough and India were bowled out for 243.

Andrew Symonds was Man of the Match.
