any thoughts on teams that are likely to take out the ACC senior cricket premiership this year, my eyes are on Parade

Re: Acc Cricket

Yes I have to agree with you mate.
St Bernards will be a prospect this year (as always) but Parade are a far better and tighter unit than any other team.
The 11 guys that are playing first 11 this year have been together for 5 years and work hard for each other!
Parade have it in the bag.

yes have to agree.
with the likes of these blokes all playing high level local and or district level its going to be hard to beat.

Andrew Sturgess - playing at Northcote whilst captaining the Under 18s North East Region squad and trying out for Under 19s Victoria.

Luke Soligo - currently playing in the Ones for his local club as a solid keeper and aggressive bat. Has won two batting averages in his career and has come 2nd twice in the competition batting averages.

Andrew Clarke - after having one year off and making local 50's hes more then ready to slot back in this team. Won a batting average award last year with a few 90s.

Steve Patrick - left arm orthodox has played high level representative cricket.

Callum Dean - trying out for the DVCA under 18s team, is a very solid bat.

Daniel Currie - a possible AFL draft pick this year, hoping he stays on after his 6/8 down at the collins.

Dale Equid - handy batsmen who onced opened back in the premiership Parade side down at the snake pit

Luke Mckenna - playing high rep cricket and is a very solid bat, would have to come in at 3 and would be the 2nd best batsmen in this side.

Sean Salmon - handy first change bowler who looks to claim quick wickets. Can hold the bat.

Justin Banbury - very quick opening bowler who will damage most teams. Happened to go to Nudgee college with this bloke as we were both bottm ages and he ripped through many batsmen.

Mitchell Buckley - playing a good grade at his local club, as they are the best club in the DVCA had to get a game higher up, very good bat.

a few outsiders - Tristan harrower, Andrew Filipi, Matthew Quinton

Re: Acc Cricket

Yeah thats a fair summary of this team
Andrew Sturgess: One of the best junior batsmen Ive seen.

Luke Soligo: A underated keeper who is also taken for granted with the bat. Showed his talents on numerous occasions hitting big scores batting at all positions. When got his eye in he can single handely destroy an oppostition (St Bernards)

Steven Patrick: As last said played high rep cricket, won the DVCA bowling average and came runners up twice. Won four junioir flags and is currenty playing B grade possibly A grade for his club. Radical batsmen who is dangerous.

Andrew Clarke: A real tough and handy cricketer who is no stranger to making big scores. Normaly coming in the top 5 for Parade Andrew when on top of his game is a great batsmen to watch. Be sure he will make plenty of 50's this year for both school and club cricket.

Luke Mckenna: Possibly the most underated ACC batsmen of past years. coming in at No.3 Luke is often over shadowed by A. Sturgess coming opening which helps him alot. Made some big scores over the past few years and can hit a ball a long way.

yeah i think the parade college team will be the force to be reckoned with in the ACC season. Parade will still do good even though losing strike bowlers in daniel currie, justin banbury and andrew filippi. salesian college will be the only team to give parade a run for there money with a qaulity batting line-up. parade's batting line up goes all the way to the bottom i just dont know if we can rely on sean salmon to take all the wickets

Re: Acc Cricket

Don't forget young Braszell, bowls thunderbolts and bats in the mould of Kevin Pieterson, same hair as well. He also loves coppin a mean one from dirty pros at Scarlett Lady!

Re: Acc Cricket

Would love to say Mazenod but after our year level finished they have struggled big time.

Re: Acc Cricket

the old parade ventured out to st bedes and were in strife early when sturgess out in the first over, the side collapsed at a mere 52. with st bedes comin out to bat parade had them 3-9 bat eventually got the score with 6 wickets down.. parade un lucky with a few blokes to have left the school, and a few injured and unavliable. will bounce back next week!

st bernards had a loss to st joseph geelong.

And in breaking news, Sportsbet have placed Carlton early favourites for the 2007 AFL premiership, coming in at $1.15. Place your bets now.
The St. Bernards team I saw last week wouldn't have beaten our year 7 side.
:p

Re: Acc Cricket

No one has a better team than this
Year 9 Parade College

Mark Phelan
Joel Donaldson
Mitch Johnson
Dylan Campbell
Dayne Smith
Mitchell Burton
Daniel Gilbert
Tim Fothergill
Hayden Einsiedel
Simon Higham
Lyndon Mcnaughton
Supercoach: Andrew Sturgess

Re: Acc Cricket

hayden mate,
until your team this season plays in an ACC premiership you are no good.
the parade year 7 2005, year 8 2006 teams were a pair of very capable cricket sides.
lost in a close grand final in 2005 but bounced back to win it in 2006.

so keep working away year 9's of this year, but you will never be as good as us.
