advice for gray nicolls jet 1000 bat

i have just purchased a gray nicolls jet 1000 bat,im still waiting 2 weeks before its knocked in and ready to go,has anyone used one of these and whats their opinion of if,it felt very well balanced and has great pick up and a carbon handle but i havnt used one yet,felt much better than any other bat i picked up and i mean noticable big difference so just wondering your opinions thanks

I haven't used on but a few people I know are impressed with the carbon handles. Mainly it helps to reduce the vibration coming through the handle as well as reducing the weight a little.

As for the bat itself, then it's a decent make and it should hopefully play well, just prepare it properly and it should hold you in good stead.

im getting it oiled and knocked in from the owner of the shop i bought it from for $35aus so i figured best leave it to him as i have little patience

I know where you're coming from - I hate knocking in bats.

You may still want to take it easy with it when you first get it. Only use it against very old and worn balls in the nets and make sure that the face isn't getting marked by the seam. If it is then you may want to knock it in a bit more (unless you're not that worried about it, that is).

yes i will be taking it easy still on old balls until season starts,i cant go throwing money away so im getting a face put on the bat as well.i thought it would be easier to get it done so for $45AUS its getting knocked in oiled and a face put on
