I captured that image from my TV. I don't know the whole story but it allegedly appeared in some Australian newspaper.
I also saw it yesterday on TV and don't read much into it.
As I was aware that some media person will definitely investigate and come up with it.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I am truely sick of this 'racism' issue right now. its been in every news update and every where i look people are talking about. from Indias blackmailing, to australias ignorance, just sick. all this came from a game of cricket, and threatens to mock the game in a way not seen since the hansie cronje scandal

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Again not to play down racism is all gone over the top. Harbajan got charged so india reported hogg who is now charged. Both teams need to remember this is cricket and play it in the correct spirit which i dont think australia have been.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

it needs to be stopped
india pulling out becuz there only good player is suspended??
get some balls ur a bunch of girls honestly
stop winging
jus get back to cricket and live with ur punishment

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Hogg has only been charged at the moment, the hearing will take place on the 14th of January.

Story can be found here.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

During the Press Conference of the last day of Sydney Test;Indian Team Manager-Chetan Chauhan mentioned about it.But the Indian team were more occupied in the umpiring & harbahjan issues.
Now having things cleared a bit for the Indians;they have logged a complaint against Hogg accusing him of making an offensive remark to Anil Kumble and Mahendrasingh Dhoni.
Mike Procter, the match referee at the SCG, set January 14 as the date for the preliminary hearing. If found guilty, Hogg could be banned for two to four Tests or for eight one-day internationals.
Personally;I don't read much into it because their might be no proof to support their statement and the Indian team is more interested in resolving the Harbhajan issue and they are fully aware that the Australian Team plays a Tough and uncompromising cricket even if it has to use abusive language or any kind of strategy/stunt to win.

is that a joke?? our hopes of winning do NOT depend upon harbhajan. im sure you know that he is not a bowler that can win us matches in india much less australia. our only problem is that harbhajan is being labelled a racist without any evidence. why should we accept the punishment just because symonds "heard" it?? india only complained about hogg because australia complained first.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

kizza i think that was a bit harsh. I'm pretty sure that Harbhajan will have little to no impact on the bouncy Perth wicket or the flat-as-a-tack Adelaide wicket. What i think the Indian team want is justice done. In my opinion cancelling the tour may have been a bit overboard, but thats all in the past and the tours underway now so let bygones be bygones, as the saying goes

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Yeah, I'm happy that the tour is going to progress. It was never going to be canceled though. BCCI would have lost over $2 million; They are far too greedy to let that happen.

From what i have been hearing, not many Indians like the BCCI, whys that?

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

There are a lot of reasons.
They have a lot of money, but hardly use it to improve the state of the game in India.
Its headed by a politician who has no relation or knowledge about cricket.
Its a pretty unprofessional and inefficient organization.
The only reason they are so rich is that India has a huge population and most of them love cricket.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Well those are as good a reason as any to hate something . Its a shame about the not improving the state of the game in India though, if they do have the money they should put it to good use. I should stop my rant before it gets to off topic :D

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I always think that somewhere there must be a massive pot of money, hidden away in Indian cricket.

For starters they could spend money on pitches and on getting some umpires on the elite panel.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Well with a billion lovers of the game in the country, there must be a lot of money floating around somewhere

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

They do have a lot of money. Its of no use to Indian cricket though. After the ICL was introduced they did make some changes, but there is still a lot to be desired. There is an Indian Domestic Structure thread for us to discuss this topic.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I guess this puts another spin on the events of the last test, from the BBC blog section

Indian sources insist Harbhajan Singh did not use the word ‘monkey’ during the episode at the Sydney Test that provoked the recent cricket crisis between Australia and India.

But they have admitted to me he abused Andrew Symonds with a highly offensive remark about his mother. Which is clearly wrong.

They, however, also now claim that he was speaking in Hindi and that the three Australians who heard him – Symonds, Matthew Hayden and Michael Clarke - misinterpreted the words as ‘big monkey’.

While his mother tongue is Punjabi, Harbhajan is also equally fluent in Hindi. And though I should not repeat the words he used, I am told there was a reference to Symonds’ mother, with Harbhajan using a Hindi phrase that could have been mis-heard as him saying “big monkey” in English.

Yet crucially, at the hearing held after the match, while denying he used the word ‘monkey’, Harbhajan admitted there was general abuse between him and Symonds, but did not clarify what he did actually say, nor that it was not in English.
