But India dont have any batsman remaining after the two batting. Dhoni is in bad form so he can get out at any time. If India have to make a total more than 400 then Dhoni has to play well.

309/5 isnt actually that good a score when you weigh up the situation, considering they dont have a lot of batting left in the sheds, the Adelaide oval is as flat as anything and its only going to get flatter and 450 is the average score on this ground. So if India are going to compete they have to find something in Dhoni or the tail order to get a good score, or they are going to have to bowl well on a wicket regarded as a fast bowlers graveyard and the pitch is still a bit to new for spin just yet. But i would have to say that both teams have done well and tomorrow will either make it or break it in my opinion

Needless to say this test is posed on the edge of a knife blade and whats for sure is that we are in for a cracking 4 days of cricket to come

I think India lost one wicket too many. Had Laxman been still at the crease then India would certainly be in a position of advantage. Dhoni is struggling out there with just 6 runs off 54 balls. He needs to play a big innings if India are to put up a challenging score.

I said before that Dhoni is useless. He got out cheaply again. But I was surprised to see that Kumble and Bhajji made a 100 partnership. Both of them batted superbly. Now I think Bhajji was right selection karthik would never make so many runs. Now India has a good score. I hope Sharma can help Kumble and get India to 500. Kumble is just 2 away from well deserved 50!!!!

India are slowly making their way towards 500. Even if they don't reach there I think this is a good total. Bringing Harbhajan into the team has strengthened the batting. I guess Karthik or Jaffer wouldn't have scored as many runs as he has. Kumble has again shown what a great player he is. That lower order has contributed a significant amount of runs for India, too many for Australia's liking.

Wow the tail order is adding very valuable runs. I was doubtful that we could get to even 400 this morning but Kumble, Bhajji and now Ishant are doing wonderful job for India. I am very happy with the batting now. Kumble is just 22 away from 100!!! I hope he can get but it is very diffucult with only 1 wicket left.

Oh Kumble, falls on the unluckiest number in Australian cricket, 87. Good knock from him and put India well in control of the game. As i said, this day will make it or break it, and it certainly made it for India, but good job by the openers to get to stumps without losing a wicket.

It seems the keepers from both sides are in a bit of a form rut. Dhoni with the bat, although he dropped a ball he should have taken (wasn't a chance, mind you), and Gilly is in a slump more with the gloves.

I must say that as annoying as it is from an Australian point of view, watching a tail wag makes quite good TV. They always go for their shots, so there a always chances for wickets and they score quickly and entertainingly

This pitch is good for batting. I think Kumble and Bhajji will need to take most wickets or Australians will enjoy batting too. Last time Australia made 556 and India made 533 in first innings in 2003.

500+ plus score was predicted by me yesterday to my teammates and i have being getting calls for the same.
63/0 looks good Australia and Hayden being in the middle will be relief for the dressing room.
The good thing for India is they are having 5 bowlers playing;Kumble & harbhajan have a special role to play.
The wicket looks flat and will assist the batters;so both the spinners have to take the wickets.
The next 2 days will be important for both the Teams.

I hope the decision to play five bowlers help india to get wickets. Hayden and Jaques are already got a good start. India threw away wickets otherwise we could have gotten 600. If the spinners get turn and bounce then India has good chance to take lead but otherwise Australia too will make 550 or 600. Then this test may become a draw.

The next two days are important for both the teams.
But today morning; I felt that when Aussie players were walking in the middle to field ;their body language was not that strong it usually use to be.

Yeah, stranger things have happened in a game of cricket, like Ireland winning a game against a member nation (can't remember who) or Zimbabwe beating Australia in the 20/20 world cup. From what i saw in those 20 odd overs is that the attck lacked a bit of venom that should have been there when there are only a few overs left in the day. And with RP Singh possibly (unlikely) injured, who knows :laugh:
