Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Let's keep it civil in here - everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the right to support and back whoever they wish.

As for the days play, so far it's looking as the pitch predictions are holding true and it's at its best for batting. The Australian openers have barely been troubled and will be looking to put on a big partnership, at least 200 plus I'd have thought.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Well they got that big opening stand, 158 i think it was. Its good to see Ponting fighting his way back into form. He has played all the bowlers quite well, even though it is turning a fair bit. If he makes a ton here he will thoroughly deserve it

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Hayden is simply unstoppable. He's having a great series. India has struggled against him since 2001 and they still haven't found a way to tackle him.

The bad news for India is that this pitch is not providing enough assistance to the bowlers and the Australian batsmen are not throwing their wickets away. Australia's run rate is below 3, which is pretty slow by their standards. As a result, they haven't been able to take control of the game. India still lead by 255 runs and a couple of quick wickets will put the pressure right back on Australia.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

It looks as though this match will peter out into a draw, unless a serious collapse occurs to one team, but that doesnt look likely

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

If Australia have to score the 200 runs that they trail by it will at least take them 50 overs to do so. Which leaves India a day and a half to bat. Its not possible. Barring a Indian collapse in the second innings or an Australian collapse tomorrow, this match will most likely be a draw. I can't see an Indian bowling lineup lacking three of its front line bowlers dismissing the Australians before they surpass the Indian lead.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

australia better hurry up
300 and something off 100 and something overs??
geez spice up the run rate

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Ponting has an injury in the front of his back, the Soho injury or something, dad said.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Thanks to Bhajji and Kumble for making runs in the end or india would be in deep trouble. This pitch is similar to the pitch we had in the india vs pakistan series. There is no life. Our batsman should done better on this kind of pitch. Already this match looks to be draw. I just hope Indians dont collapse in second innings.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

It looks like Australia are not going for the win. The run rate is too slow if they want to win. This pitch is not helpful for bowlers but worse because Rp and zaheer are injured. Bhajji has become a batsman these days he cant take wickets. Except ponting he has taken very few wickets in the whole series.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

That is always the worry, one or two quick wickets the pressure could be on.

Game should end in a draw though, not much in the pitch.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Australia have made the best use of the pitch but our batsmen failed and we had to depend on Kumble and Harbhajan. This series is a big failure for Dhoni. He should have scored runs on a batting pitch.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Yeah Dravid, Ganguly and Dhoni will be upset to miss out. but they have chance in the second innings. Dhoni is just hopeless. He only scores runs at home. But i hope dada and Dravid can make big scores that will be the perfect reply to the selectors.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

micheal clarke good batting but u rlly cant afford to put catches down in slips
i no not everyones perfect but thats like the 3rd hes dropped

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

yeah the slips are in a bit of trouble now..... symonds and clarke have dropped a couple.. now langer is gone they need 2 find another good slip.....

both clarke and symonds have the ability 2 b great slips but lack the experience...

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

exactly u hit the nail on the head with that its exactly right lack of expirience but the media are idiots and say there crap but there not

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

people should pay NO attention 2 the media... they say things 2 get a bite.. unless the blokes in the media could do better they should watch wat they say..... the bloke that dropped the catch is normally fielding in covers... it is a big step up going from covers into a full time catching position.. give him time and he will b on the money ;)
