A few of the 2nds boys mentioned that Palms looked at 1 stage like he might take the game apart. Quality cricketer and quality bloke. Where's he been this year?

167 last week too. He's a great mate of mine, Palms. Never really recovered from playing at South Melbourne, opening the batting and getting pummelled by blokes like Mick Lewis. He made 470-odd runs for us two years ago but hated it, had last year and the first two thirds of this year off and wandered back after Xmas to us. He has found the love for the game again, is one of the last to leave after training (and a heap of stubbies) on a Thursday night and will be a most excellent inclusion in our firsts next year.

It's interesting how blokes fall out with the game. I know I did about 4 or 5 years ago and even Brett Jones was telling me that making a ton against East last year didn't give him anything like the buzz he thought it would.

You can't force these blokes back in a hurry as they'll only continue to not enjoy the game. I suppose I'm also saying Redan need to let BJ come and play for them when he is good and ready.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

you've gotta be careful of hearsay SteveO - theres a bit of hearsay getting about that you called a young player from North who lost an eye cyclops when you played them recently. If that hearsay is the case then your a low dog that deserves no respect!!

As far as keepers go I reckon they rank as follows:

1st - Dave Horwood (GPCC - a hand-eye freak with immaculate footwork. Rarely has to dive)
2nd - Dave Knight (Wend - ditto)
3rd - Paull Jeffrey (MC - great hands)
4th - Steve Riley (Darley - technically good with nuts to go up to stumps)
5th - Tim Reinetts (East)
6th - Matt Clark (MC)
7th - Xavier Watson (North - great hands and feet)
8th - Les Sandwith (Naps - competent)

What say you?

No P.White? He will be disappointed once he reads this!!!

Its no good you saying that it didnt happen swardsy being a good friend of draf's i know that it happened and if any time a topic should be off limits on a cricket field it is this. Knowing him for a few years now i know how hard he's worked to get back just playing cricket again let only a grade after such an injury is a fantastic effort. The guy is doing a bloody good job and a top bloke to boot and to hear that a veteran player of the bca has resulted in a sledge like this, just because things were getting a bit tough for him on the field, is unbelievable!

Champ get over it. Time to move on. We all realise that you have got some issues but there is no need to get stuck into the guys on here.
