Batting Averages!

Right i'd like to know peoples opinions on Averages for Batting? so the position batted at and what you would expect them to Acheive through a season?

i really think openeers should be in there for a while, to take the shine off the new ball and build a total

What level are we talking or is it in general?

lets say an average level, nothing to basic but not county level (UK)

So factoring in 2 failures per game, if players performed to their 'average' you'd be looking at somewhere in the region of 230 per 50 over game.

I'd say number 3 would be higher because he/she is usually the best batsman in the team.

Depends on the level, I'd say.

Even in my Juniors B team our best player is at 3.

For my school team the best batter is the opener who faces first ball. He could bat down the order but that's where he likes to bat. For my club 2nd XI it varies but often the no.3 is the best bat. For the 1st XI it's our overseas opener, but the best of the rest is no.3.
