Bendigo & District Cricket Association

As season 07/08 rapidly approaches, what is everyones thoughts on the coming Bendigo & District Cricket Association season? Who will be premiers? Who will be the standout player? Who has your team recruited for the season? Who has left your team?

Hard to go past BUCCS winning again although K Flat will improve rapidly with Adam Burns being back to win the cricketer of the year title again.

Strathdale will be strong and also Golden Square will continue to get better.

Why is Burns leaving Geelong, seemed to be doing okay from the scores??

He was doing well for Geelong, seems like a loyal sort of bloke though and i guess wanted to come back to play for the team he has played his entire life for (except last season obviously). His return will dramatically improve the roos this season, look out for them to be a top 4 team for sure.

Re: Bendigo & District Cricket Association

Although Huntly/North Bendigo may not threaten the premiership this year, the improvements should be remarkable compared to last seasons poor efforts. With little success, the HNB comittee put in unbelieveable amounts of effort into trying to recruit a few senior leaders to help lead the young side.
No A grade cricketers were recruited from other clubs, however, there are some cricketers who will make a huge difference to the club.
Andrew Gladman, an unbeleivably quick bowler, will, on his day, make the likes of Clutton and DeArugo seem like nothing. He can be an expensive bowler, how ever, his eract bowling will frighten any top batsmen in the league.
Also, another huge asset, Ashley Gray, just 16 years old. Couldnt get a game with the Golden Square A grade, despite make over 800 runs for the year., with a highest score of 188no, in less than 50 overs. He recently made 99 in an A grade practice match.
