BigCricket Fantasy Cricket League - A Brief Overview

Instead of having to explain the game to every new player that signs up i thought i would write up a short summary of the competition.

The BigCricket Fantasy Cricket League (BCFCL) is a competition competed between five sides; The Chittagong Cheetahs, Kingston Kings, Madrid Magic, Nairobi Nuggets and Western Wizards.

The captain of each side selects a team for each game with the home side's captain being responsible for selecting a pitch. There are three different types of pitches a captain can select which are Poor, Normal and Excellent.

After the pitch and sides have been selected the game is simulated on a program called Cricsim. This program gives a ball by ball text commentary of the games which are posted in the match threads.

The competition consists of two forms of the game, Test and One Dayers. The Tests are played over five days.

There are many different types of players to choose from which are listed below:
- Pure Bat
- Fast Bowler
- Medium-Fast Bowler
- Medium Bowler
- Orthdox Spin Bowler
- Leg Spin Bowler
- Pure All-Rounder
- Batting All-Rounder
- Bowling All-Rounder
- Wicketkeeper

Players also can choose wether they bat and bowl left or right handed.

Each game can be bet on using vBookie in the match threads. BCash is used to bet on these games. The amount of BCash you have is located under your avatar on the left hand side of the screen.

Players are rewarded for posting. The players that post in the game threads and in their team threads are more likely to be selected. Posting is an essential part of the game.

For new players, the best way to get recruited is to post around on this board and approach one of the captains. The captains are Frodo27 (Kings), Dirk Kuyt (Magic), Ljp86 (Nuggets) and Biggie (Wizards)

Also have a look at the rules thread.

How are matches and results simulated? What software is used? I'd like to do something similar with some of the guys in my club for a side project
