Build me a PC

I have about £1200 - £1400 that I'm willing to drop on a new PC. Recommend me parts etc for a great pc that will handle most games etc.

I don't need things such as monitors, keyboards or windows etc so just the hardware will do!

Thanks!

Re: Build me a PC

will gaming be the main purpose or you just want to run the latest games at decent settings? the cpu and the gpu will be most important and expensive parts.

Re: Build me a PC

I'll want to run some pretty processor intensive stuff plus the latest games at decent specs. I guess the graphics card and the processor will be key.

I'll need a quad core (or the best dual core) and a top end graphics card.

The DirectX10 card will function perfectly with DirectX10.1 but didn't nvidia say that their DX10 cards shouldn't be used in Vista?
And would you require a SLI configuration?

I wouldnt have the Direct x 10 cards yet, id wiat longer as dx10.1 is comign out i believe.

As AB says the card will function perfectly well.

And Ab, nvidia just said that there are a lot of bugs in windows vista which prevents the full potential of their hardware from being exploited. That all will end once SP1 and dx 10.1 are released - all problems ended i supppose.

the only problems these days are Directx 10 SLI which are being sorted pretty quickly too.
