Channel 9 commentary team - poor form

I am sick to death with the commercial and biased commentary coming from the channel 9 commentary team. Now they are giving you betting odds all day really annoys me and take time out to listen to how Biased Bill Lawry and Ian Chappell are is ridiculous.
Thoughts?????

Re: Channel 9 commentary team - poor form

Bill Lawry is past it.

Healy and Taylor love pumping up the tyres of their former state QLD and NSW respectively

Slater is good, not biased and tells it how it is.

Richie, might be time for him to retire.

Tony Greg just hates the Aussies and will be enjoying himself this summer.

Time for new blood, but if you are sick of listening to them just put the channel on mute and turn on ABC cricket. Now there are some quality commentators.

Chappell is a tool. Lawry is good value, even if he's biased. Richie is getting a little senile, but he can stay as long as he wants. Slats is good. Grieg can be pretty entertaining, and cricket just wouldn't be the same without his thick South African drawl, despite the fact that he has little to say of any value. Heals and Tubby make a pretty good tag-team. They both know their stuff. They can be pretty biased at times, but oh well. They're not perfect.

Re: Channel 9 commentary team - poor form

Lawry is a legend. Yeah sure he's pro Australia, but at least he doesn't try to hide it and pretend to be 'neutral'. He also is positive about the opposition and doesn't just bag them like some others.

Chappell needs to stop being so condescending and stop repeating what he thinks is a captain's wrong decision 300 times through the day.

Healy is as thick as shit and is the ultimate flog. Loves himself and I'd like nothing more than to see him sacked.

Slater is really good IMO, very down to earth and seems like a good bloke. Even better this year as he's stopped talking about his own career too much, I don't mind a bit of this though.

Greig is pretty good and it's nice to have someone that doesn't go for Australia. Nicholas goes well as a host but is an ordinary commentator. Tubby is alright and Ritchie is still decent value despite getting on a bit.

They love pumping up the tyres of their own careers aswell.

Only thing I can knock is the rambling as a ball is about to be bowled, then when a wicket is taken it lessens the effect of it.

Also Richies irrelevant comments are humerous, but annoying after a while.

Slats is the best IMO.

Couldnt believe they were saying we were still in front against south africa at the latter some stages of the first match. Enjoyed hearing Warne take to the mic though...

Re: Channel 9 commentary team - poor form

The only commentators that shud be there are Warnie n Slats.
Healy n Taylor are alrite. But the rest gotta go.
Duminy played an unbelievable innings today and they only started to talk about it until they started to build a lead.

Re: Channel 9 commentary team - poor form

I think the odds being put up every so often is an interresting move.

Firstly, I will state that I am not a gambling man and loath the thought of pissing money up the wall on a bet, Melbourne cup included ( but I do have 2 tickets for the $30 mil lotto on Saturday night, maybe I'm selective as to where I piss my money up the wall?)

So if a bookie is prepared to put their money on the line to predict the outcome of a test, one must assume they have considered their position very carefully as it is his very livelihood at risk.

This is interresting to me as it's someone putting their hard earnt on the line and predicting who will be the winner of the test from the time of placing the odds.

Just how great or small the odds indicates either a position of strenght in the game or whether it's closer to being in the balance.

I look past the comercial gains involved.
