Cheap video analysis of your bowling

On the wrist spin thread there's a bunch of us who've been discussing the intricasies and nunaces of wrist spin bowling and the importance of the subtleties of the release. One of the key tools we've realised that would be helpful would be access to high speed video to film our different releases. I've just come up with the solution - The casio ex FC 100 type that into youtube and you'll get a whole bunch of clips where people have been testing their camera - so if you're interested in analysing your technique - how you release, how you explode through the crease, how much you spin the ball or how you bat this is the answer for less than 200 quid (UK) have a look at these links

Re: Cheap video analysis of your bowling

ive had a better look at the videos that people have produced with these cameras on YouTube and have come to the conclusion that at 1000fps the picture quality is probably too low to be useful for bowling. at 410fps they seem to be perfectly acceptable though. that is more than slow enough to do a frame-by-frame analysis and see any potential flaws or areas for improvement. my camcorder does 240fps and is very good, almost double that though would be spot on.

a better solution would be to find a camera capable of even 240fps that can film in genuine HD quality though. my camera is capable of recording in 1080i, but at fast shutter speeds the quality is very poor. if it could produce the same quality for the slow motion as it does for normal speeds then it would be outstanding. progressive picture would be better for fast movements though, there can be some interlacing artifacts when fast movements occur on screen (the movement breaks up into lines)

I reckon the 410 fps will adequate having looked at your clips at 240 fps. Did you have a look at the slo mo program I linked to on the wrist spin page?
