ANA hater, i dont think you have said one positive thing on this forum. Perhaps you are one of the many older CMCA cricketers that are bitter that the game has past them by.

I agree with all of the above ******** off to BigFooty.com.au!

Bit of a useless stab in the dark that O.G. I just say it how it is and if you don't like it that's your choice and good on ya. There's been quite a bit of chat about who's playing where blah blah blah and if you believe it all, each team will have about 6 new players come next month. Bring on Saturday October 4th, hopefully the day won't have passed me by.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Completely agree with the anti-footy talk. Fu(k off to bigfooty with it.

Spot on - Cheeks will play at East Sandy.

I'd love to but don't know how to register. Have you got any ideas Uncle Mick?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Cheeks in- Flahive out

Might have to wind them in a bit
$1.50 into $1.30

what ever happened to Bertie the bagman??

ES -Clear Favourite

(Then I would think about 3/4 on the next line)

Bent U/ Centrals/Union/West Bent

History says there is one side that usually has a good year and pushes top 3 from middle/lower position.. any thoughts as to who it might be this year?

My tip is Pagers'/ Omega to push for finals..Thoughts??

East Sandy - $1.20 (and shortening)
ANA - $1.25 (based on pre season training effort)
B Union - $2.85 (big name quality bowler would have them equal favourite)
Mackie - $4.75 (always thereabouts in september, drifting by february)
Bent U - $8.50 (should be highly competitive)
Hamp C - $12.00 (tough ask to repeat 07/08)
W Bent - $18.00 (had a year off, maybe ready to bounce back)
ANA - $301.00 (based on actual ability)
Rest - Write your own ticket

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

ANA Hater - in between your two betting options for ANA is a fair assessment. We won't set any expectations... but our aim is to hopefully we become a pleasant surprise come March.

Hey ''Hater'',

Your getting a head of yourself bigfella, ANA at $1.25, then in another breath, they are $301.00 on actual ability.
Don't you reckon that they will improve with a hard pre season?
Is '' Captain Pittman playing for East this season?
If so, the same trouble with Cheeks may eventuate again?
Unions bowling will be adequate, it will be interesting to see how the big ''M'' goes with the captaincy, they will make a truckload of runs which will be good enough for them to win more games than they lose.
I'd be interested ni ''Bertie the bagmans'' comments !!!!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Gonna take a stab here, but I reckon he might've been taking the piss out of ANA by quoting them short for their pre-season efforts, but making a point that he doesn't rate their ability by quoting the long odds.

thserious - you have some thserious issues champ. It's no different to the process of signing into bigcricket. Not much going on in that jughead of yours?

Burger - Easts odds shorten with Jenkin in - Flahive out. Are you saying Cheeks is a better bowler than me? That's a little rough. He's only got 4 flags to my 1.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Lads, excuse my ignorance, but as a VTCA man myself, does CMCA have a rule on how many players can be paid??? I have a few mates that play in Longy Shield at Mackie, West Bentleigh & Le Page, haven't heard anything from them.

VTCA is supposed to be 2 paid players, but all the North sides are well known to pay more under the table. Does this happen in CMCA?

Hi Not Out,

As far as i know there are no restrictions on number of players or amounts paid. Are you looking for a gig in CMCA for a bit of $$$ ? If you are an out and out gun, PM me and i'll have a chat to the powers that be.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Nah mate, happy where I am, just curious because it's all the talk in VTCA that the likes of Yarraville Club pay nearly every player in their 1's. It's ridiculous & blatently obvious.

I dont think too many play for $ in CMCA, although the top 5 teams from 07/08 paid players. However it was not quite money well spent for the 5th placed team as they coughed up 2nd spot in the last round to miss the finals by a catch or two. Players in this comp generally get paid to Captain/Coach their club rather than just to play but as there are no rules, i guess it comes down to available resources and whether a club is prepared to shell out $$ for short term success. Not sure about Le Page, but your other mates should be able to answer the question more specifically ;-)

As has already been mentioned, there's no restrictions on player payments. If you're looking for a buck and an enjoyable year of cricket East Sandy pay quite handsomely....

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

UM i may be reading into this a bit much, or i have missed your confirmed answer but; but from that response to Not Out, you are staying at ESBC? cause i would have thought you'd be talking Highett West up had you gone back?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I'll be back at HW this year. Actually put pen to paper on a clearance form last night. Hopefully have that all sorted before the week is out.

In respect to talking HW up, if we can sign up 2 young blokes that have been training the past couple of weeks I'd be very confident of a successful season. They played 2's cricket at South Caulfield and should do very well in Woolnough. They're mates of a young fella that played his junior cricket at HW, went AWOL and has returned home. He too, has improved out of sight which is all the more promising. Been a long while since I could confidently say HW should do very well this season.
