Cricket stadiums

Re: Cricket stadiums

mine has got to be adelaide oval.

it has been kept traditional and historic, upgrades have been kept to a minimal, with only maintenance being performed on it. it looks great with a spectacular aura about it, plus is seats enough people for a good crowd, but not so many that the game is drowned out and the place seems crowded. it has a homey atmosphere and it feels like you are going down to watch a small club match, but when you are seated you realise that the people out there are international players, and you are so close to them. the pitch is always great and the ground of a good size, possibly the only pitch in australia that has stayed through to its traditions as being a good batting pitch with an equal and fair chance for both spin and pace so to keep the game alive and buzzing. there is always a good game there and it is in a beautiful city. great ground to represent australia to other visiting countries.

WACA is my favourite.

Would be made even better if the pitch was restored to what it used to be but don't know if that will ever happen.

Re: Cricket stadiums

Obviously Lords, althought I have to say I like it for what it means more than the ground itself. And the MCG, Boxing Day is the number one day on the annual calendar for me.

Want to go to Newlands, Trent Bridge and Eden Gardens - all for different reasons.

Re: Cricket stadiums

I'd have to say the SCG.

Not only have we kept our historical stands of the ground- we also have a modern World Class Stadium in the rest of it.

I can't find a great photo of it- but they always show it on the telecasts. Nothing beats a good sunset over the top of the Ladies & Members Stands, with the city skyline in the background! ;)
