Re: Cycling Fitness!

I hope the weather stays reasonable for you. Whatever you do, don't pick the wild mushrooms.

Keep the high sugar snacks down to a minimum. Take a few for emergencies but make sure you don't have emergencies ;)

Breakfast is the most important meal for you. Get in some good protein, carbs and fats. Porridge may be the order of the day and if you can have some kippers too... great! If not, beans/egg on toast.

Take fruit, raw veggies, nuts, seeds, flapjacks with you and snack often. You need to make sure your glycogen stores are topped up.

For lunch, if you can pick up a rice, pasta or bean salad that would be good. If not, sandwiches; chicken, tuna, salmon, peanut butter.

Make sure you stay hydrated and take a hot drink with you, again for emergencies.

Most importantly, make sure your mobile is charged and you have a good first aid kit with you. Oh, and that gel saddle! :)

Re: Cycling Fitness!

Thanks Liz i knew you would come to my resuce!

were staying in a hotel friday night, then riding sat day, so breakfast is not a problem!

I will chuck a couple of high energy bars in for safe keeping, any way! I will have my camelbak (2 litre water supply) with me and will top it up on the way round!

will find some flapjack tomorrow! probably wont carry lunch as there are a billion cafe's and restaurants on the island. so i will pick up a sarnie on the way round!

and hopefully complete the ride back to the Hotel for dinner!

i hope its nice weather! anythign but rain!
