District 4s

Any district 4s players here? How has your side gone this year? How will it go in the finals and what are people's predictions?

Not much interest in the district 1s thread , can't see there being too much here...prove me wrong though.
probly not, thought id give it a go.

Anyone planning to go to a district club? What club? Any recommendation?

Personally, I think Northcote is the place to be for a young up-and-comer in the north east. They seem to really be getting their act together down there and have a couple of sides playing finals this year with even better prospects next year.

Re: District 4s

must say northcote are a very ordinary club, many players at the club who shouldnt be and playing grades much higher than capable. e.g their opening bastmen in the 1sts who avg about 15 though hasnt been dropped only happens at northcote

Re: District 4s

Im thinking of going to Northcote, although I dont know whether Im good enough. Water Boy plays there I think. I just want to play at a District club to learn a few tricks of the trade and get Turf experience, even if Im not that good.

Breeno, I'm not too sure who you are or how good you are. But if you are looking for turf experience you are better off going to play VTCA or ECA and try and work into the 1's at a club.

If you make runs/wickets district clubs will be looking for you, instead of you looking for them and getting lost playing 3's and 4's.

Re: District 4s

Might drift down to northcote next year, not too fussed about its reputation or anything, its just because its the closest club. The coach, Chris Harris really has turned the place around though.

He told my dad he was from Keon Park, and with the season Ive had I should go and at least train with Northcote, I always thought he was from KPCC.

Re: District 4s

Yeah thats true, back on topic though, you going to District Fergie?

PS. It doesn't bother me playing in a clubs 4ths, because your still learning much more just by being at a district club.

Re: District 4s

I have a lot of options at the moment, so am going to sit down with my coach and talk things through and decide from there.

It shouldn't bother you because 4s at a district club is a lot better standard then F grade in Jika

Exactly, the main question is whether I would get a game.

what people think of richmond and fitzroy doncaster?
good clubs to develop at or not?

I've got a mate at Richmond, whos nearly as good a bat as Hristovski, and he is played as a specialist 12th man bowler in their 3rds.

Fitzroy are okay from what I've heard.

The main question is, would you rather be getting a go at a weaker club, or not doing much at a stronger club?
