DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

final match before the final and the aussies need a win or no result to move onto the final.

Australia have named their squad, and they are going with 'experience'-Skipper Ricky Ponting, Glenn McGrath, Damien Martyn and Brad Hogg all return to the side, with Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, Dan Cullen and Nathan Bracken discarded after the loss to West Indies last Monday.

Stuart Clark remains in the squad.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

This has basically turned out to be a semifinal match. Winner advances to meet West Indies in the final.

Apparently the Aussie side was pre-determined a while ago:
Hayden, Katich, Ponting, Martyn, Symonds, Hussey, Haddin, Hogg, Lee, Clark, McGrath

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Take a look at this weather map. Looks like there's a thick purple stripe headed straight for Kuala Lumpur.

Not sure if they'll be able to get a full match in today or not. India/Australia might just get rained out again.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

The Australian team appears to be the same as listed above. Mongia and Kaif join up for India.

India:
R Dravid, SR Tendulkar, V Sehwag, MS Dhoni, SK Raina, D Mongia, M Kaif, AB Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, MM Patel, RP Singh

Ponting chooses to bat first.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Australia 60/2 after 15.

Not the most dominant of starts here.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Australia 102/5 after 26.
Should be 102/6 with yet another run out! Haddin was out by a mile, but the third umpire seemed to think that Harbhajan dropped the ball before he hit the stumps. Looked out to me.

Lots of trouble running today for Australia.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Australia all out for 213.

Frankly, I think they were a little lucky to reach that high of a total. That said, with the collapses we've seen from some of the sides batting under the lights, this could be an exciting chase, and that total may very well hold up for Australia.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

some bad choice running their by the aussies including martyn and symonds. to top it off for symonds, he got LBW on the next ball.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Clarke redeeming himself? perhaps yes, he just grabbed two wickets, the first being bowled and caught (one handed too).

50-4, 36 overs left.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

India are 188-8, 26 runs to win 49 balls left. should be a good finish.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

193-8, 21 runs to win with 6 overs left. McGrath and Lee bowling together now.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Lee's first delivery and WICKET! Hussey takes the catch, India down to their final out. 193-9, 21 balls left.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

A good win under the circumstances although I don't rate India all that highly.Good performance from Lee 5/36, thought Hogg and Clark did their bit also.Lee MOTM for me.

Re: DLF CUP: match 6 AUS-IND

Great win for the Aussies, we've struggled this series yet are still into the final. With our best 11 in we should smoke the WIndies.
