Burgs, surely you have better things to do than get on BC and write about yourself! But then again maybe you don't!

"Would walk into the bowling rotation at any Barclay Shield club IMVHO..."

You are right he would. Fifth change. Bowls poo!

Honest would be the best description, definitely no star. Does a job for his team but seriously doubt he'd bowl at many other clubs.

I was quoting someone else, don't think for a minute that I think Burgs is of that elk!

He has a crack though Burgs, something a few of the boys down at Lower lack! Spine!

So do we know where the creeks are going to be playing this year??

marngrook i would assume, would be smarter if the played at our old ground, fence all the way round good club rooms, unless panton hill are playing there now

Probably Doyle or Westland? They are both guaranteed ones players - I know that for a fact (Doyle is my brother). And if you read my original post, it does say a "couple" of first XI players, not a "few" as you put it.

I'm not saying we are competitive with a District 2's team, there is a million other contributing factors, but I'll stand by my assertion that if we were playing "seriously" rather than making sure certain players bowled, then they would have made far less runs.

Having said that, they may have bowled blokes that don't usually bowl as well - maybe they would have kept us to 100 runs had they played it differently?

Anyway, we got what we wanted to out of it, and I doubt anyone of us care what anyone else thinks about it.

It was interesting before the game that they wanted to have "power plays". Seemed a bit over the top for a practice match, but got me thinking if that would be something DVCA clubs would be interested in, given we're all playing one-dayers now? Might add a bit more interest to the one-dayers and make them a bit more tactical?

dont tell me ur the one whos plays 4 the northcote ive seen u play and ur 2 good playing at that club its no good

I think Luke Burgoyne from Lower Eltham is very underrated...

Extremely hard to score off, not express pace but pushes them through well...technically very sound...bowls with some heart too...

Would walk into the bowling rotation at any Barclay Shield club IMVHO...

Looks primed for a big year...
I think Burgs is a very handy bowler and does push the ball through nicely and consisitantly hits a spot. And if what you say is true "that he is primed for a big year" thats gonna be pretty important for you blokes, you were a bowler short last year and apart from Gunn I havn't heard of any pickups. So I hope you have someone to fill the void or Burgs will have to have a big year.

I'm not from Lower Eltham but have a fair few mates down there, if you are gonna have a crack at blokes atleast name names champ! Would be interesting to know what grade you play seeing your having a crack at Burgs! At a guess i'd say 3rd's or 4th's???

I play 1's you knob! What club you from? and what grade?

Won't name names not fair to bring blokes in the topic when they weren't on here pumping themselves up!

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Relagations between Lalor and Eltham.
1 Bundoora
2 Lower Plenty
3 Riveride
4 Epping
5 Plenty
6 Diamond Creek
7 Mernda
8 Research
9 Lower Eltham
10 Macloed
11 Lalor Stars
12 Eltham

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

People have short memories, just before Christmas last year Eltham were on top of the ladder. This year they have the same side, yet people are saying last? Although I don't think they are good enough and are going to give the premiership a run, they are good enough to not to finish last and go down!

How could the GF be between Riverside and LP if they finish 2nd and 3rd?

They would play each other in the semi

I'm sure you do play 1's champ, i bet you are a jet.... As you are the one shooting your mouth off about a level of cricket you clearly have never played, why not tell everyone what Club you are from and what grade you dominate week in week out.

Definitely the favourites, but "shit it in" is a bit far I reckon.

They only just got into the semi-final on the third last ball of the day, and their best player in that match (Trent Wellington - 100 runs) is no longer there.

I think they're a super team, but it's a funny game cricket.

Agreed, Riversides 2's will benefit greatly with either a player dropping down from the one's when Trent comes in , or from him playing there, I'll back Riverside in over Creek, daylight third.
