He made 14 in the 16's against NEW as a Falcons player

M. Johnsons run of 3 tonnes has been put to bed as Darcy Campbell bowled him for a duck

Re: DVCA Juniors

Opinions, opinions. Sadly, everyone is allowed them, freedom of speech and all that. Shame that not everyone is able or willing to back them up beyond the all too common 'you/they r shit'.

Not a dig, (well, maybe a small one), but it is my opinion.

Re: DVCA Juniors

What an interesting first day it was in the 16 1's
Teal
NEW bowled out Diamo for 117
(Cisek 3/8 off 6, Reid 3/10 off 9)
My Tip: NEW comfortably

Bundoora bowling Plenty out for 139
(Darcy Campbell 5/31 off 10)
My Tip: very good game Bundoora to get the chocolate

Riverside bowling Mill Park out for 134
My Tip: Riverside to strong

Thomastown smashing Lower Plenty making 8/225
My Tip: Thomastown to win out right

Eltham bowled out for 192 by Whittlesea
My Tip: Whittlesea

BLUE
Not many runs made by any team
St Francis bowled out for 56 lol by Monty
My Tip: Monty outright

Diamo all out for 105. Have Epping 4/45
My Tip: close game Diamo to good

South Morang bowled out for 106 by Macleod
My Tip: No where near enough runs, Macleod easily

Research 8/172 by Panton Hill
(Tom Gilmore 87)
My Tip: close game Sanderson will decide who wins

Yarrambat all out for 109, Lower Eltham 2/11
My Tip: close game Steven Mitchell to win them the game

Any Thoughts????

DVCA Under 16's

3 Underrated players in the 16's go by the names of Dylan Potter (Riverside), Brad Gedge (Also Riverside), and Louis Smith (Plenty).

I'm not sure how these blokes aren't right up there for selection in rep. squads. I'd watch out in the coming weeks for these boys.:)

Re: DVCA Juniors

there are plenty of overrated cricketers in the association but they will eventually get found out.
just keep working until you make the teams, dont go around badmouthing other cricketers because thats the kind of things that prevent you from being selected.
you never know who is listening.

also,
who do we think will win premierships this year ?
any junior grade.

He is still a very good player, got bowled by Cisek who is a very decent bowler, NEW are no slouch as a team, they will play finals.

Re: DVCA Juniors

16 1 Blue Results

NEW vs Diamo: Cisek and Reid destroy Creek to bowl them out for 117, NEW to upset the Creek here.

Bund vs Plenty: Campell gets the main man Johnson for a blob, batting will be too strong Bundoora will run away with it with ease.

Eltham vs Whittlesea: Eltham made a gallant 192 but there bowling isnt up to scratch, Whittlesea will make the runs.

Lower Plenty vs Thomastown: Thomastown somehow make 245, they will get home.

Riverside vs Mill Park: Park get 145, won't be enough..Riverside home.

Re: DVCA Juniors

lads lads,
pretty hasty to rule out the creek in that match.
a strong bowling attack lead by daniel gilbert who is up there with the creme de la creme of u16 bowlers.

pity to see they played a second string side with trent williams, will hiser and jayden sherieff? running around in the DC magoos.

all will be revealed on saturday,
good luck to all playing. :)

Re: DVCA Juniors

Its a bit ordinary to say a second string side fmr_13, it was possible they did not want to have these players exposed to the great talents the NEWCC U16 side has.

Hope the weather holds out for Saturday as it will be a great game and a good indicator of where these sides are at. Unlike some of the other favoured sides both Creek and NEWCC do not rely on just the 1 or 2 players they have well balanced sides.

Another underated player is Dylan Forster, not many people have heard of him but he seems to give most bowlers head aches, he should go far with his cricket.

nice quote dizza or wateva ur name is

Re: DVCA Juniors

mate, coming from a knowledgeable position it definitely wasnt that.

the issue is private school cricket taking away some of the better cricketers.
there needs to be a reshuffle of that side, better than average players playing in the other side.

Re: DVCA Juniors

Just read through all of the pages on here

1. Trent Groom is a very good player. Plays well at cowboys level, hits hard and is working on his fitness. He is injured at the moment so the coach didn't get to see him so he couldn't pick him.

2. Mitch Johnson is one of the best junior bats in dvca but he is also over rated. He is the golden child and has people suck up his ass and tell selectors etc. he is very good player in that comp but is not what everybody puts him up there as. played against him in a few rep games and from what ive seen likes to play through mid wicket off the legs and with the pullshot even if the ball isnt there.

3. You guys can bag NMCA(JIKA) all you want but look at the tri series last year. We won 6/6 games defeating DVCA and HDCA in 12's 14's and 16's. Not 100% sure about this but im pretty sure in the A grade senior game, JIKA defeated DVCA?? The comp looks to be the strongest of the three, good to see how the tri series goes this year.

4. Hows that has alot to say but he can back it up with his cricket career so far, hes been through all of this junior stuff and has made District 1stXI as an opening bat with Jarrod Carlson.

5. All these names are being flung around as guns but when the Dowling and u14 state championship squads go up none of them are there? or they got cut. It's a whole different game and is the junior equilvalent of District 1s, because it is the highest level before playing for state for our age.

Egg, I was going to pay out on you when I saw the first statement which I have highlighted, but then I read the others and your sound like a knowledgeable man/boy?

1- I can see where your coming from in regards to Mitch being over-rated as he has not made a mountain of runs playing for North East Falcons, which as you have stated, is the best of the best. But, really, what kid that age has made alot of runs at that level consitently? Not many I wouldn't have thought. Reputation and potential are dangerous things mate, Mick Hill is a prime example. Probably wasn't ready to play for the VIC's last weekend but becuase of his rep. and potential was selected ahead of others. Mitch has this reputation and potential, and I'm telling you know, he will be a bloody good district 1's player, if not higher.

2- Thank you for pointing this out to these other muppets that I have been through the system and know how it works and I know talent when I see it. Still, I need to get a bloody score soon, sick of these starts, 19 and 17 again today (we had to bat twice), bloody frustrating!

3- You could not be more right, best of the best. The kids that make runs and take wickets during these carnivals are the kids that you can say are good players. Anyone can be a big fish in a small pond (be a good player in DVCA/JIKA/HDCA) but the truly good players will make runs when the competition is of better standard.

Your points are valid, well done mate.

mate back to the tri series i no for a fact that alot of DVCA players turn down the chance to play.
also the selecting process is the worst in Australia maybe
but however the JIKA do have a number of talented players and deserved last years win but the depth of the league is nothing compared to the DVCA with there teams from all age groups would struggle in the DVCA plus the leage is so much bigger.

champ, sounds like you are a bit sour with the selectors.
miss out again this year or something ?
if you want to get in. make them pick you!

and you know no facts,
a lot of DVCA are chomping at the bit to play in the representative games so maybe keep the comments to yourself.
and that is the facts.
