Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

How many overs and what time do the one-day games start?

Back in the old Jika a few years back it was 40 overs and a 12:30pm start before daylight savings and there were never any problems.

I can fill you guys in Wizz...Not trying to lay the blame on anyone either just telling the facts. Mont were 30 minutes over there over rate and we didnt get back onto the ground until 4.10pm. Then later on we realised that the game had to finish at 6.30pm and at 6pm it was getting very dark. So we got to 6.30pm with Mont needing 30 runs and we needed 2 wickets with 1 over to spare. Game got called off. Draw. 3 Points is better than 0 but of course starting the year off with a win would've been much better.

But i think at that stage of the year Round 1 shouldve started at 12 or 12.30. Games that are close and high scoring are always going to go over time and i hear a few other games went close to being called off aswell!

But no use dwelling on it Round 1 is gone and now for Round 2 hopefully with a win.

I agree 100% games should start at 12.30 till day light savings starts. By the sound of thing it was a good game? Mont did have a few players missing.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Just having had a look at all the weekends results from dvca and abroad, have noticed camrea who left the nmca as they were "outgrowing it" lost in their top two grades. Not knowing a whole lot about dvca can someone fill me in on whether Whittlesea are a super strong side or not? and is my cricket correct showing Camrea are down to just the 3 sides? this would seem unbelievable.

Cheers.

Yeh look we didnt bat well.. Lost wickets quickly after a good start. But a few scores here and there got us to a score of 191. After being 0/76 after 14 overs on a quick ground 220-230 we were looking for. But 191 was still a good total. Mont batted well up the top, we didnt bowl bad just didnt have much luck. They had Hand and Barnett out and Wunhym has gone to Bundoora. But we got the 3 points so looking forward to having our first win hopefully on Saturday.

Felt a bit weird with it getting dark and not really sure if the game was going to be completed. With a about 12 overs to bowl in 25 minutes everyone sort of felt that the game was going to be called off. It got really dark at the end

40 overs and games start at 1pm. But in high scoring games and wickets falling its always going to go over time! games should start at 12, break at 2.20 instead of 3.20. Just take everything back 1 hour and there would be no problems!

Round 1

Good start to the round, with a few upsets.

Lower Plenty winning the toss and batting 3/175
Potter 70 Zerafa 33 and Arnberger 53no all bats making a score.
Morang seemed to struggle with the ball Smith 0/51 off 8 Thomas 0/28 off 5
McDonald 1/24 off 5 and Peters 1/31 off 10 on the other hand Lowers bowlers seemed
in total control. Smith, Oconner and Scalon all bowling tight and taking a wicket.
Good 1st up win for lower

College v Bats...Bats winning the toss and batted with all bats getting a start
Bray 18 Pellizzer 18 Meredith 10 Johan 21 and Wilson 29 */175 good score
with Paine being the pick of the bowlers 4/23 off 10
College top order struggling with Strickland the only shining light with 35 and
Gutterson with 23 College need to get there batting right or could be in for anther
disappointing season.

Bundoora United v Panton Hill From the looks of this game 1 for the bats with
Ross 60 Symonds 78no and Flack 20no helping the side to 3/197 in reply Panton Hill
5/194 Colls 42no Grimshaw 20 Motschall 73 McInnes 28 and Chand 24 just falling short
Good 1st up win for BU.

Franks v Mont...Franks winning the toss and batting 9/191 Wallis 26 Baker 36 Wegener 30
and Lewis hitting 21 Strongman the pick of the Mont bowlers 4/24 off 8. All Monts top order
getting runs Taylor 33 Barnett 17 Pendlebury 27 Caithness 40 and Higgins 19 8/161 Duggin 4/22
off 9 The game that got away bad light stopping play should have been 1 zip for the Franks.

Hurstbridge v Thomo Thomastown winning the toss and batting 7/155 Brown 40 Karunakaran 34
Big Murcott not doing so good 1st game back 12 same goes for Stewy with 2 .Rech bowling tight
with 2/33 off 10 Bridge never in doubt 5/158 Pohi 30 Simpson 50no and Muir 39no with Rech and
Sadowy both pick up 2 each Murcott bowling his stock standard 3 for the game.

New boys to the comp Camera taking on the Eagles at Whittlesea. With the Eagles winning the toss and batting
138 Jacobs 28 and Goodwin 17 with McGann picking up 4 wickets in reply Camera struggled with 95 Only 1 batsman having a crack was Paspalis with 40 and Lehner being the man bagging 4 big wickets and seeing the Eagles taking the points
Great see thing going right for the Eagles well done boys.

Mill Park were never in this game Greensborough giving them a cricket lesson Mill Park winning the toss and batting
7/117 Poblo the only 1 to make runs with 37no Groom and the 2 Stewart brothers no luck this week. Greensy 2/119
never challenged with Kulikowski 32no and Bowers 53no. Marshall copping a caning 0/36 off 6 think its
gunna be a long season for the boys down at Redleap..

Why is it I picture this being said with a smug look on one's face? lol

On that note should be interesting to see B Thomas come up against Mill Park this weekend, sure to be a few pleasantries exchanged one would think.

No smug look on my face just the truth.

It will be interesting to see the out come, if Thomo gets a game! With or with out him I still think Mill Park will win.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Bundoora, Greensborough & Hurstbridge all undeafeted after 2 games who would of thought. College yet to win.
Heard a whisper there is a good feeling down at hurstbridge with atkins to come into the side and a possible return of one A. McGinty... Crowie must be licking his lips.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Young Nathan Andrews Gun Bat, 41* and apparently looked very solid and south morang didnt even look like getting him out.
