Eca 2011/2012

DD will be found out if they make grannie on the big ground. The brother will have a dummy spit and it will all unravel.
It might also depend on who umpires after last years last round against Ashy when they made major complaint about the 2 senior umpires

My guess is you play for Deepdene Paintball, you barrack for them that hard. Deepdene will be strong but we all know that a team of champions doesn't beat a champion team.

I find it funny that we are talking about Deepdene and Premierships in the same sentence. Have you seen their finals record?? Shocking record on the big stage! I still get a laugh when I recall Sturgess dropping a catch to win the game and get them into a GF, and the ball breaking his nose. Reckon he still has nightmares about costing his club a certain flag that season. So people, don't get too excited about Deepdene yet, it is only November, and as a club, the nightmares of March still haunt them!!

I disagree. They'll be a major player.

Agreed, every side who come up against Deepdene they focus on Parsons too much and allows other players to fly under the radar. Steele has made some runs, the Sturgess brothers will chip in here and there and so will the rest of their line up. Their bowling attack is their strength. Hoare, Gartner, big dino, Parsons and young Dinnison is handy but they do need a spinner not sure who bowls tweakers?

I forgot to mention that big dino can change the game with the bat in the space of 5 overs, would be one of the cleanest strikers in the ECA

never seen him hit a ball really. bob - are you actually dino in disguise? ha
I heard about the drop catch and also I think they have been thrashed by mulgrave in a few semis also. and didn't hawthorn put on 90 for the last wicket against them to get into a GF? was that the same game of the dropped catch? a team like that will never fire when it counts. But agree that they are obviously a good side..... not sure how long it will last though.

so do you play in the 1s down there at the bearcave paintball, or just an observer in the lower grades?

They have the same team as last year with the inclusion of Hoare who has taken 6 wickets in 3 games.
They are a good bowling team, but I don't see them being that much better than anyone else.
They have beaten Boronia, St Kevs a struggling Mont Albert and should win this game against GI. Not bad but plenty more challenges ahead of them.
I am sure they are happy with their season so far but there is a long, long way to go.

Apparently he hit 80odd in 10-15 overs last year and apparently he hit 30odd in 2 overs on sat. Also what happened in previous years is has happened but this year will be different. They are a serious threat. They have beaten some good teams this year Terry. Boronia who beat mulgrave who are 5th by % and are playing good cricket, St.Kevs who are a big show to make finals who are 2nd on the ladder currently and Mont Albert who are a good side who do very well IN 2 DAY CRICKET, alot of people of written them off but they will be pushing again for finals and they will get their season up and running with a win on sat.

They get so used to a snick for 4 down the hill. A pull through cow for six and they get on the big grounds like Ashy,Donvale, Bulleen etc and it is a different story.
Anyone heard about Donvale going to subbies? Apparently Premier is expanding and there will be 2 vacancies with 2 going from subbies

I wouldn't call ashy big, donvale are in A turf so that doesn't count but teams who have home grounds on postage stamps adapt to grounds which are bigger because good players should be doing that anyways. Don't use that as a cop out
