England In Australia - The Ashes 2013/14

5 for 230, Smith and Haddin steadying the ship. England have to be careful runs can flow quickly in the last session over here with tired bowlers on a good batting pitch, desperately need the breakthrough.

Warney really giving it to Bowden ha. Will be massive for Smith if he can snag a century here, only 20 to go.

Really pleased for Smith. It was just what he needed but more importantly he stood up when the team was in trouble and made a ton. They need to go on with it this morning, about 450 will be needed with the heat. Tough bowling conditions.

You can tell already it's going to be hotter than yesterday. Going to be a long day for the players out in the field.

So Australia all out for 385. Nasty little period coming up for Captain Cook and Wesley Snipes before lunch.

still have 200 lead but the wicket of Bell to yet be taken. A lot of work to do will need to have them out by lunch so they can field in the heat.

FFS Carberry! Ryan Harris could bowl to me in DVCA D grade next week, and he'll get me out. He'll be able to get me out in any number of ways, but he won't be getting me out by me leaving my bat dangling out in no man's land and ricocheting onto the stumps!

FFS! Seriously, Erasmus is a knob!  That was not out! Ironically, had there been no drs, that wicket would've a strong argument to have it implemented. It just shows that some umps have as big a brain as starfish! Special mention to the 57% of plebs who sms to the coverage that it wasn't out.:oops:

FFS Pietersen! You were actually doing good, despite not scoring. They would never have gotten you out, like they couldn't with de Villiers last year. His 30 odd was as good as a 70-80. But no, you're letting yourself get dominated by Siddle! You owe the team even more now.

England still behind, but slowly getting back in it, despite making it very hard work. Everyone was banging on about Johnson, but no wickets so far and he's bowled 15 overs. This test 3 years ago he had 6 in 17.3. It's slowly turning around. Bell and the rest must stay disciplined tomorrow. A win is not out of the question.

Win, lose or draw, I'd back England to win at the MCG and SCG. Ironically, I think the heat could become advantageous to England in that it's so hot that even the Aussies will be extremely uncomfortable as well. C'mon you Poms!

And Harris gets Bell LBW early after a referral. Thought that was probably going over live but the gamble pays off.

Oh dear, the English are fielding very poorly. Prior has missed two and there are misfields as well. Broad of to the hospital so they are a bowler down. not good in this heat

Warner looking like he's starting to get in the mood to really get going, make the poms chase some serious leather in these conditions and really grind them into the turf!

Very disappointing :( The scene is set for Australia to declare and England to set a new record chasing in the 4th innings. Remembering that RSA probably could've chased down 600, 5 or so years ago. It's under trying circumstances like this that make these moments. Cook to at least threaten a double ton. Come on England!
