England In India

Re: England In India

Now Sehwag welcomes Collingwood to the crease in his 150th ODI with two massive sixes to start. The first one slogged over long-off while the next one was smashed to deep mid-wicket.

0/105 from 16.2, Sehwag brings up his 50 from only 44 balls.

Re: England In India

England gets their first wicket. Gambhir chips at one from Patel but only finds Broad at long-off. Sehwag gives him a spray for not hitting it hard enough.

1/127 from 19.5, Sehwag on 64 and going for absolutely everything.

Re: England In India

India cruising at 2/214 in the 34th. Sehwag was out for 85 giving Patel his second wicket. Flintoff has been their best bowler by a mile, 0/19 from six overs. Everyone else is giving up 5.5+ an over. Only one other bowler is below six an over and that's Harmison at 5.66.

Re: England In India

Raina out to a diving catch at point by Collingwood. That gives Flintoff his first wicket and India are 3/242 from 37 overs.

Re: England In India

Yusuf Pathan's poor form continues in ODI colours. A shortish one from Harmison but Pathan pulled it straight to Bell at midwicket. That should give Harmy some confidence.

4/247 in the 38th over.

Re: England In India

Leaking boundaries like you wouldn't believe. The ground is small so the boundaries are short but there's just been so many poor delieveries. When it's not short it's full and when it's not full its short. The Indians are batting very well though, attacking everything at will. Must have been their plan right from ball one and it is most definitely working.

17 off that over Patel, 2/78 from his nine overs. I don't think he'll get another one.

4/307 from 44 overs, Yuvraj Singh up to 84 from only 57 balls with Dhoni on 28 from 25. Absolute carnage here, last five overs have gone for 50. 370 is a real possibility if England can't stop the runs.

Re: England In India

310/4 off 44 overs.

Just rocketing along.

Yuvraj is on 85 off 59 balls with 4 sixes

Re: England In India

That was a very one-sided game, England's bowlers were nothing short of terrible. Even Flintoff took a hammering at the end there, his last three overs cost him 39 I think. Every bowler was conceding 6.5 runs or more an over which shows just how much the Indians were attacking but also how bad England were with the ball. 5/387 is a massive, massive total, no team will chase that.

England's reply started badly, Matt Prior out in the first over, Shah gone for a duck not long after. To their credit though, they battled hard but it was just too much despite some good knocks from Pietersen and Bopara, who let loose at the end. Zaheer Khan lead the Indian attack with 3/26 from seven overs.

Big win to India, 158 runs can you believe? England have a lot of work to do ahead of the second game.

Yuvraj Singh was Man of the Match for his stunning 138 not out from 78 balls.

Re: England In India

Who do you think England should go for as their spin option? Is Samit Patel good enough or should they give Swann A go, Swann Didin't bowl badly in Lanka before, So he has some experience on sub cont pitches. Plus Swann is a more agressive type of spinner than Patel who is generally a containing bowler.

That game does not exist. ;)

Game 2 is underway and what a difference a game can make. India are struggling at 3/45 after 11 overs. Stuart Broad has done all the damage, taking the three key wickets of Sehwag, Raina and Rohit Sharma cheaply.

Gautam Gambhir is on 20 and Yuvraj Singh is up to 11. They have plenty of work to do to turn things around for the Indian team.
