The bubble was Kookaburra's big bat, massive marketing behind it, a really popular item. They played well (bearing in mind the usual problems with Kookaburra's) and the design was more than reasonable.

The idea was that the bubble was the sweet spot, or so I seem to recall, they also used to have fairly thick edges.

I still have a few lying around although they've been chopped up or had the stickers removed.

Never really thought about it in that way but then again, it was 'normal' for the time.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the beast and think names like Blade etc are a bit clichéd. Ice is quite good, as is Kahuna - not what you'd expect a bat be called.

Naming bats is a headache though.

true true, i guess there is a problem when it comes to naming bats, they will never be just right.

As for bats id have to agree with you A_A, ice and kahuna both seem like nice bats

ah yes my friend bought a diablo a little while back. i though it was alright but not as great as the kahuna my other friend has

Have to say the Kahuna. Just got myself the Kahuna Vision but haven't used it yet as I'm still injured and having it knocked in and oiled etc. Can't wait to go in the nets to try it out!
