Finals Structure

Round 1:

1st gets a bye.
2nd plays 3rd in an Elimination Final. (1)

Round 2:

1st plays the winner of (1)

or

Just 1 v 2

Re: Finals Structure

Gotta have 3 teams in the finals.

Pretty pointless only having two, gonna have that chance of 'coming from the clouds to win the premiership against the odds'.

2nd vs. 3rd @ 2nd home ground (semi final)
1st vs. winner of 2nd vs. 3rd @ 1st home ground (grand final)

Is the way to go @|

Re: Finals Structure

1v2 (A), 3v4 (B)

Loser of game A plays winner of game B (C)

Winner of game A plays winner of game C (D)

Re: Finals Structure

I voted for 1 vs 2 but i can't really make a decision. 1 vs 2 seems to short while 1st vs (2ns or 3rd) seems a bit easy to make the final even if you end up 3rd.

lol........why not forget the regular games and just play finals? :D

In fact how about the league champs have the flag, then we play a knockout like FA Cup.

Re: Finals Structure

Because of the drawn poll i'll have the final say that the finals format will be 2 v 3 then 1 v winner.

Re: Finals Structure

Why cant we have......

a) 1 V 2

b) 3 V 4

c) Loser a) v Winner b)

Final winner a) v winner c) (neutral ground)

Because the team that wins the wooden spoon could theoretically win the premiership. Fitzroy did it in the VFL in 1916, finished last and then won the first semi, the prelim and then the Grand Final to become premiers. If that happened here, it would be a bit of a joke. The last placed side could go winless all season, then suddenly win three games and become premiers. The last placed side really doesn't have much of a right to play finals.

2 vs 3 is fair, most four-team competitions wouldn't have all four teams making the finals.

Re: Finals Structure

Since it's a tie, why don't we get the one who voted 'other', SouthSwans, to have the deciding vote?
