I heard the Big Red Fire Engine rolled back into town at the weekend. Any truth?

May score a few in the 4ths that kid. How is the pom doing at Thommy?

Haha Ozzyboogs is back in town alright, made a swashbuckling 16 and tied down an end for 3 overs 0-8 :D

McCoy just needs to spend sometime in the middle and adapt to the different pace of the wickets, hopefully he gets going this weekend.

what's with st peters? twice in in 2 weeks, they bowl a team out for a measly total ( this week, corio for 82 ) and then slump to be all out for ************ all, or in this case 4/38, now on the back foot?

Without making any excuses, there are currently 6 players out from last season's side and they seem to be going along ok; albeit being bowled out for small totals. Don't think they have made 200 yet? The batsman out today are G Nelson, C Nelson, Shields and Illingworth. Still a bit of batting to come. Illingworth 4/16, Holbrook 4 /10 up from the 2nds.

We batted an extra 5 overs after we passed their score to try and get a lead for the second innings so we could push for outright points, the 30 balls would be the "game over" you're referring to. I had probably half the strike, if you could find someone else to give the votes to, be my guest.

As for the pom - he'll come good, were 2-1 and he hasn't fired a shot yet so we can only get stronger up the top of the order one would assume.

No offence Renny, but if that is S Illingworth out, then T Hester is your only chance of winning that game from what I saw last week

Mr Parker,
why would you be worried what is written on here about GWSC?? Would you be better off concentrating on what you can control at your club rather than rubbish that you cannot?
Clearly anything on here should not have any influence on the performance of your players and you should be embarassed that you have responded like this.
For the sake of the club please focus your attention to winning games of cricket.

It is comments like this that you should be embarassed about.

He was trying to do the right thing and you bag him for that. Comments on here can have consequences for a club as far as recruiting, retaining players when it comes to club image/identity/branding, etc. Therefore, this may affect winning matches in the future. I agree with you about the focus, however, it is also a president's duty to look after the club as a whole.

Would be a very difficult job trying to find the best U/21's in the region. There's a lot of good kids out there that don't get a look in cause they're from a club that either don't have senior country week selectors at their club or past players at their clubs or U/21 selectors at their clubs. It's up to the clubs to nominate their good kids for consideration.

Score Update:

Alexander Thomson all out 144
Bell Park 0-0

James Whitehand & Jaryd DeBeer currently in. Hester, McArthur & Guthridge to come. All have had decent starts this season. Sounds a bit silly but i am actually tipping an outright from here. Feel free to get stuck into me if we don't.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

i would think sean does deserve 2 or the 3 votes for the game against marshall!! the quality of the shots played for his 80 was class!! it was the old saying "dont bowl there" :D 3 votes from me sean

hehe, we have our broadband connection down at the club, so the club's laptop was there. I thought to keep myself interested let's post a few scores up, you never know who out there in cyberspace is keen on the scores. Anyway we ended up with 392 off the 85 overs. Again myself contributed 0 to a score of over 300, it seems a common occurence after last week. So far with the bat I have scored 0 for the season. Is there anyone else in the whole of Geelong that can match up against that ??

BTW Big Babies Arms smashed a few powerfull sixes late in the day with one of them sailing right over the top of the South Barwon club rooms and landing on a car parked out the back.

Hornet was smashing them and would have had time to bring up almost a double century but went out to not the best ball and being caught at point. This was after drinks not being ready for the over before so they had to go one more over. When he was walking off he was heard to let spray the drinks being late thus causing him to loose his wicket !!

For The Two Blues veteran Dev Royce bowled well with a long spell but due to the rush of runs his figures also made a century.

It was good to see David Boyd back into the 1st XI with his customary inside out shots back, with one of them going straight over the fence at cover point for a six. All in all a good day for the Swans and it would be interesting to know what the all time highest score in Div 1st XI cricket is.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Division 1 "Powerhouse" South Barwon are extremly cockey in not only winning the 20/20 competition, but also beating Division 3 "Rabble" Guild-St.Mary's.

Quotes from the South Barwon Coach
1) "I will retire if we loose to them"
2) "Hester bowls wrongen's, Blyth will pretend he is Matt Hayden, and Ando will raise his bat grip when he is going to hit sixes"

However after thinking about the comments and the "slim" chance the Powerhouse has of loosing he followed with this

3) "20/20 is a game of chance. All cricketers should be respected, except Justin Larkins"

A little change of tune, prehaps running scared

Drunk, hung over or stooned, Guilders have...

NOTHING TO LOOSE
